Best Western Lichfield City Centre The George Hotel
Ranked #3 of 7 Hotels in Lichfield
Reviewed 28 June 2014

We stayed in the 18th Century Hotel for 2 nights in June. I love old buildings and this one doesn't disappoint. Room was of a high standard, clean & in good order, the staff curious and friendly, the breakfast a delight. If you're staying in Lichfield you won't go far wrong to stay here. The City of Lichfield itself is a beautiful green City, well worth spending a few days exploring.

Great hotel. Traditional building right in the city centre. Good feel with modern service and facilities. Loved Lichfield and loved this hotel. Darwins restaurant good, too. All staff polite and friendly. Thanks.

Traditional charming "coaching inn" type hotel. If you want clinical modern stay at the local Premier Inn, probably cheaper! Local streets abound with proper pubs and a wide choice of restaurants. Hotel restaurant and bar very competative. Stayed previously, no window views but even the single room OK.

we arrived at about 12 midday even though we knew check in was not until 3.00pm.lucky for us our room was ready so we did not have to get changed in the loo, as the wedding was at 2.00 the staff were brilliant lady on desk told me where to shop for a fascinator as I had no time to shop for .one nearer home. Room was very cosy ,breakfast was buffet style and plentiful.Even though our party were last down and late for breakfast nobody rushed us. Lovely hotel right in the centre of town and 5 mins walk to the registery office. Would definately stay there again.
Thanks to all the staff. V.B

Room Tip: We had a standard double at the side and it was fine.

This is a very pleasant hotel near the centre of Lichfield. It is in a surprisingly quiet location. The public areas are inviting, clean and comfortable. Our room (I think we had been upgraded) was big with plenty of hanging and storage space. The bed was softish but comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean. The bathroom was a good size. The breakfast was very nice and the staff very helpful. We will have no problem in returning to The George.

Room Tip: Upgrade if possible

Have stayed before and enjoyed the place but this time the room was superb, air con, telly and minibar and the whole place feels welcoming and stylish. The breakfast was really good and the service was excellent. Stayed with work but thinking of going back for a social stay.

We recently stayed in this hotel, and for the price offered, it is good, with nice clean rooms. However, we found the rooms on the smaller side with the bathrooms beginning to date. Again, for the price, this is could be expected. We did find the rooms very warm and a little stuffy, with only a small window to open (no AC). With the window open, there was a lot of noise from the patio area of the hotel, and the pubs over the road. With the window closed, the room would be too hot to sleep, so we went out for a cold drink (if you can't beat them, join them!). We didn't eat at the hotel, but overall the hotel was nice and clean, and in good repair.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It is pleasing to read that everything was to your satisfaction and that overall you enjoyed your time with us. Unfortunately being a City centre hotel there are occasional noise issues from the street but I hope you will choose to stay with us again.
