the George is located in the picturesque English town of Lichfield, and works well as a base from which to explore the area. Staff are qulck to fullfill any request. My room was located in a
Corner well away from any noise from the banqueting rooms or the main street. Two huge
windows, a comfortable bed as well as ac and a private bath. Resturant and bar at hotel are both excellent with a great menu. Would no hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Anything in the 30's was great.

This is an old coaching that has been updated. It still has creaking floor boards, but the room we had was large and well furnished. The staff were friendly and helpful. We still had to walk some way to our room. Breakfast was all you could want. If you want to explore Litchfield there is no better hotel.

I recently stayed 9 nights as part of a visiting choir at the Cathedral. The location of the George was perfect for walking to the Cathedral daily. My room was in an older part of the hotel, at the back, and was surprisingly large for a single room. The tea service in the room was excellent, the bathroom facilities likewise, the bed quite comfortable. Good buffet breakfasts were included. In addition to the usual English items (eggs, sausage, black pudding, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast), there were cereals including muesli, excellent yogurt, and fresh fruit. I would love to return to Lichfield and stay here again.

Room Tip: If noise is an issue, ask for a room away from the Garrick Room, where wedding receptions are held.

Good ,clean hotel. Paid £67 for my wife and I for one night inc breakfast.
Well worth the money. Helpful friendly staff at a perfect location. Smack bang in the centre and handy for sight seeing, dining out and pubs.
Didn't eat ( other than breakfast which was spot on, buffet style and as much as you like) in hotel but heard good reviews from those that had done so.
Would recommend a stay here.

Went for afternoon tea in June.

Sat in lounge area, staff very attentive as we moved tables as we wanted to sit on comfortable sofa's.
Food served on wooden picnic platter , very original.
Super sandwiches, plenty of filling, eggs , smoked salmon and beef ,exceptional quality.
A good selection of cakes, plenty of fresh tea , we couldn't eat everything so staff gave us a bag to take away cakes we hadn't eaten.
Relaxed atmosphere, I was pleasantly surprised at service and quality.
Have eaten afternoon tea elsewhere in l'fld , one of the best afternoon tea's I have had !
Worth a visit.
Better to book.

We went to Lichfield to visit the Arboretum and Memorial. On the Memorial website it had a button called accommodation. This lead us to a list of hotels in the vicinity. We took one at random. What an excellent choice. Great accommodation, superb food and excellent service. Situated in a part of Lichfield that was full of life but not noisy. We will go back and explore Lichfield properly, it seems it has a lot to offer. One tip, get hold of an up to date map showing the pedestrian areas which are no go for cars.

Room Tip: We took pot luck and were delighted. Give it a go.
