I regularly stay at Pipe Hill and always enjoy the very warm welcome and exacting standards in all aspects of the experience.

Annmarie and Nick should be very proud of what they have achieved at the very top end of the boutique B&B market. Nowhere better!

Wow! That’s a fantastic review, especially as you’ve regularly stayed with us for two years! And also as you’ve travelled far and wide, that is a wonderful compliment.

We try to ensure that our business visitors do feel like it’s a ‘home from home’ and that everything you could want; from fast WiFi (that’s free) and a cup of tea on arrival after a long journey, will be waiting for you.

Thank you so much for making Pipe Hill House your preferred B&B when you stay in the Midlands and also for sharing your fabulous feedback!

We arrived there on a cold & raining evening after a long drive... The owner came over to meet us & help with luggage with a wide umbrella & a broad smile. We were shown to a lovely living room with a fire place & offered tea & home made cake. We felt very welcomed & relaxed instantaneously! It was like arriving at the house of an old relative.
The room & bathroom were perfect with organic bath soaps, shampoo etc. Beautiful crisp cotton sheets & an excellent collection of good quality coffee ( kept in the fridge) home made biscuits & varied selection of high quality teas. The breakfast was excellent! It was like a home from home! I loved it & would stay there for longer if I could.
The owner is a very kind gentleman with a great & warm personality.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent!

Thank you so much for your fabulous review! We’re so pleased you felt welcome and delighted that the room and bathroom “were perfect” with our organic and paraban free toiletries.

We’ve travelled to many places and do enjoy crisp fine cotton sheets and proper coffee. The fridge in the room is handy too; some guests bring a bottle of wine with them, that’s why we’ve also got wine glasses and a bottle opener in the rooms.

Thank you again for choosing Pipe Hill House for your stay in Lichfield!

We had an overnight stay at Pipe Hill while attending a friend's wedding in Lichfield. Our welcome from owners Nick and Anne-Marie was friendly and warm and we felt very much at ease from the outset.
Our room on the second floor was superb in every way, tastefully decorated with a mini fridge and proper milk for the tea and coffee! Little touches made the stay fantastic, such as Anne-Marie's homemade mega oat cookies. The bathroom was the largest we've ever seen and so nice to be able to move about without knocking yourself on things and to have hooks in abundance on which to hang washbags separately. Obviously the owners have stayed in many places themselves and suffered the frustrations of lack of hanging and storage space!
Then there was the breakfast! Wow!!! Anne-Marie makes her own muesli and bread and preserves, what more can I add? It was fabulous and a great choice especially for us as vegetarians. Pipe Hill now tops the list we've made of our favourite places to stay. Would we recommend it? We certainly would, what a gem and well worth every penny. Possibly not the cheapest place to stay BUT you pay for what you get and Pipe Hill deserves the 5 star accreditation and the rave reviews. If we're ever in Lichfield again we'll look no further than this wonderful guest house. Thanks Nick and Anne-Marie for an unforgettable stay.

Room Tip: Can't say as didn't see the other rooms but if ours was a good example of the standard then...

Wow! “Pipe Hill now tops the list we've made of our favourite places to stay.” That’s brilliant feedback! Thank you so much for sharing your experience of staying at Pipe Hill.

As you noticed, our rooms are rather special and designed to ensure there’s everything you could want. And we have stayed in places where it was a challenge to find space to hang a towel in the bathroom, that’s why we’ve added so many hooks and the bathrooms are designed with space for several washbags.

We are delighted you enjoyed our breakfast – many others have too, so much so that the AA inspectors have given us the “AA Breakfast Award”!

It’s relatively easy to provide a tasty breakfast for meat eaters if you’ve got a great local selection of free range suppliers as we have in Lichfield. We think vegetarians need special consideration, that’s why we’ve worked hard to create a delicious home-made high fibre muesli and omega 3 rich granola and a proper full cooked Vegetarian breakfast with no sausages!

Our rhubarb and ginger jam is very popular at the moment and we’re pleased you both enjoyed all the home-made preserves.

Thank you once again for such a glowing, 5 star review and we very much look forward to welcoming you back again.

I have just stayed here for the 3rd time. Usually I have found repeat visits are when I start to notice shortcomings in the facilities or services that a hotel or b&b offer. However at Pipe Hill House the oposite is true. Each visit has been consistently excellent in every respect.

Thank you so much for staying with us so many times! We’re delighted that each of your visits has been consistently excellent.

In fact when the AA Inspector calls, they are completely unannounced and check every single detail, so that what was great last time, is still great! Their extensive checklist keeps us on our toes, as does wonderful feedback from our discerning guests.

It’s a challenge to meet the AA’s five star gold standard and is so important to maintain this. We’re delighted you found a consistent level of service too and we very much look forward to welcoming you back again.

One thing shocks me about Pipe Hill House - how is it ranked 2nd out of Lichfield B&B's? It surely cannot be beaten in any respect. My husband and I stayed here last weekend, and we are already thinking of when our next stay will be. When we arrived we couldn't have been made more welcome. We were treated to our choice of hot drinks and homemade cakes (with candles in, as I had mentioned that we would be visiting for my husband's birthday!). That was so thoughtful! The owners are very friendly and did everything they could to make us feel pampered and relaxed. There were cookies waiting for us in our room, and the room was spotless and comfortable. We went out for a meal on the Saturday eve, and the owners had even remembered seeing a two for one voucher in their paper, which they gave us to use that eve! We were treated to an amazing breakfast with a huge choice of cereals, different juices, and a delicious cooked breakfast with free range eggs and a choice of toast. The house is set in lovely grounds which meant a fabulous view from our window. We had been spoilt and the break did us the world of good. We can't wait for our next visit!

Thank you both very much! Your review seems to have worked magic and tipped the scales. What really matters to us is that our guests have a perfect stay and we were delighted that you selected Pipe Hill House for a birthday celebration.

We love birthdays and if we know, we’ll always organise something. And thank you so much for sharing your feedback too, many of our guests keep us a secret and that’s why we’re mainly No 2 on Trip Advisor. Our guests tell no one where they’ve stayed, in case we’re booked up for their next trip!

And in the Summer months you can wander around the garden too. With the fab summer we had this year, quite a few guests sat outside with cold drinks (we do homemade Elderflower in the Summer) just enjoying the warm evenings. So perhaps we’ll see you for a future birthday too, which would be lovely!

We have returned home after our 3rd visit to Pipe Hill House and again, have left feeling relaxed, pampered and thinking of reasons to go for our fourth visit! We got married last week and decided ages ago that, as we are unable to take any time off from work for a honeymoon, we would go for a weekend 'minimoon' at Pipe Hill House - our favourite place to stay, perhaps in the world!

As always, the welcome was warm and we were made to feel incredibly special from the moment we booked (let alone arrived!). The room and food were sublime, as always and this time it was really good to take time to really enjoy the room and being at Pipe Hill House.

Thanks again Annmarie and Nick. See you soon!! :)

Room Tip: The Botanic is so special!

We were thrilled when you said you’d like to return to Pipe Hill House and honoured it was for such a special event! And your favourite place to stay! Wow! That’s such a brilliant accolade.

It’s great that as you were one of our very first guests that you’ve found so many reasons to return each year. We’ve got more reasons for you to return next year too – To visit Shugborough, the beautiful ancestral home of Lord Lichfield, to visit the German markets in Birmingham which are just a short train trip away, or to soak up delights of the Lichfield Festival – two weeks of music, theatre and fab food across the city.

Thank you once again for choosing Pipe Hill House and also for sharing great feedback. We were so pleased to see you again, especially at such a special time and very much look forward to welcoming you back next year.

Stayed here for one night while visiting relatives locally and wasn't disappointed - everything about this place is perfect. From the moment you arrive you are welcomed into a beautiful house with genuine hospitality. The owners are attentive but not intrusive, and clearly care very much about their service, and the comfort of their guests. We stayed in the Botanic room which was absolutely amazing - spacious, comfortable, devine bathroom and little extras such as fresh milk and home baked cookies. Breakfast was delicious (for the meat and non-meat eater) with an individual touch, and the breakfast trifle was sublime! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the near future.

Room Tip: Botanic room is beautiful with a stunning, spacious ensuite bathroom.

‘Excellent’! That’s a great way to describe Pipe Hill House! Thank you so much for your compliments after just one night.

We love our rooms too. The Botanic, Snowberry and Walnut rooms all have silent mini fridges for fresh milk and filtered water, we’ve tried to think of everything and it’s brilliant when guests share their feedback.

And we’re delighted that you enjoyed our ‘delicious’ breakfast! We’d be thrilled to see you both again too when you’re visiting relatives.
