“Lacking in quality”
Reviewed 16 May 2014 via mobile

Perhaps it's not fair to base a review on a pot of tea and a scone but that's all I had and I'm not enticed to go back for more. At first, I was pleasantly surprised at the decent size of the teapot. Sometimes they're so tiny, there's barely a cup in it. It's quality, not quantity, that's important though and this was poor quality tea. The scone was ok - nothing special. I sat in the tearoom to the right of the serving area and the tables and chairs reminded me of a church hall. There must be nicer tea rooms in Lichfield so I'll be looking for them next time I'm passing through.

“Beautful Walled Garden Cafe”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

The very friendly staff serve delicious, home made sandwiches, soups, cakes and beverages. Particularly enchangting was the spacious outdoor seating area, set in a walled garden. The spires of the Lichfield Cathedral loomed above the Georgian cafe. The lush greenery was a lovely oasis in which to savour the homemade leek and potato soup, fresh crusty bread....and finally a wonderful and generously sized carrot cake that was not too sweet -- just perfect. (the bathrooms are modernised Victorian, clean and spacious)

“Lovely views”
Reviewed 9 February 2014

Adjacent to Lichfield Cathedral and within easy walking distance of the city centre. This lovely little café is well worth a visit for drinks or a light lunch. A wonderful selection of cakes makes it ideal for afternoon tea. Open on Sundays too.

“Morning beverage”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

Called in on for a drink whilst sightseeing. Both friend and I chose hot chocolate . Small queue but very efficient staff and both drinks very tasty and hot. Sat in a light airy room overlooking a small garden at the rear. The menu looked appetising and the place was welcoming. Would return and sample the food another time.

“outdated and poor overpriced food”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

the staff here are very good, bearing in mind it is a charitable set up. BUT there is no need to charge 50p for using a debit card, there is no need to charge extra for a decaf coffee, and there is no need to state notices everywhere that there will be no hot food after 3.00. you cant see the cathedral because of tat and lace curtains. one sandwich of cheap sliced bread is over £4.00. where has the lovely little café gone?
