Warm June evening ducking in and out from under the big umbrellas as the sun swapped places with the rain, but at least I could stay outside. Great service and lovely fresh food, nice glass of Chianti, no fava beans.

Thank Declan B

Was excellent - then dropped in quality - but back on the right track!

Staff always seem nice, but the food at the beginning of 2014 really became quite poor! We had pretty much given up until last week when we thought "one last try" and it was much much better - maybe not as good as the last couple of years but I think that is the menu more than anything which is not as traditional as previous years!

As has been the case for the last few years the decor needs updating - compared to other Ask restaurants it's below par but again this has been slowly improved over the last few years!

Overall pretty good now, hopefully will continue to get better!

Last nights meal & service was below average! Firstly, half the menu wasn't available, we waited 40mins before we got our starters, then nearly an hour after that before the main course began to appear. One meal was over salted, 2 meals were supposed to be breaded chicken with creamy mushroom sauce, but had hardly any crumb coating and a few mushrooms on top, all for over £12! The waitress was rude because she was stressed due to the poor service and standard of food, 2 meals were sent back, by this time it was 9.30pm so didn't feel like ordering anything else to eat & who knows how long the wait would be! The coffee served was a small cup for £2.
Yes, they refunded the two main course dishes, but we felt it was over priced for the quality of food and service (no tip was left)! Won't be going back in a hurry, which is a shame as previous visits have been ok.

The food at this restaurant it has to be said is pretty poor. The service was ok and the pricing was a little high but not out of the ordinary but the food itself was just not very good.

Really poor service as previous review a lack of drinks, horrible food that didn't resemble the description on the menu.
