“An Interesting House and Lovely Grounds”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

We spent the best part of a day at Shugborough and there was plenty to do. The house is fascinating and we particularly enjoyed wandering in the grounds. Well worth a day out.

Reviewed 22 April 2014 via mobile

Visited the extensive attractive gardens which are well worth a visit. There is also the house working farm shop tearooms and walled garden area. Car parking is good For me the gardens and shop were a pleasant afternoon visit and I look forward to recolouring the other areas another day

“Lovely day out”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

The Shugborough Estate is a wonderfully low key delight, with a formal garden, a big house with its upstairs and downstairs aspects, a brewhouse, and acres of hardwood trees and grassland. Better still its northern edge lies along where the Sow and the Trent come together to create a river of note at the wonderful Essex Bridge. The bridge also provides access to the estate village of Great Haywood with a canal farm, pub, shops and the Trent and Mersey towpath. And though there is a charge for the car park and the big house a bridle way across the estate means that it is possible to enjoy the estate, particularly the rivers and the canal for free.

“Very pleasant”
Reviewed 20 April 2014 via mobile

A very pleasant day. A lovely walk around the grounds, followed by Shepherds pie for lunch (which was excellent!) We then went around the house at our leisure. An enjoyable day out.
