There were four vegetarian main courses but we chose the same one: "Thai marinated tofu kebabs, udon noodles, ginger, carrot, coriander, sweet chilli dressing" which turned out to be plain tofu (not marinated or baked) on skewers, on top of grated carrot and noodles with a very strong ginger dressing, a rip-off at £11.95. This sounded the most interesting of the dishes and our expectations were high since they did special vegetarian nights on Tuesdays.

The desserts were excellent and the staff attentive.

Went with friends for our Wedding Anniversary to the Brasserie.Took some time for the waitress to ask about what we would like to eat. Listening to others asking the waitress several options on the menu were unavailable, likewise when we asked for certain options on the menu were also unavailable. I was not impressed with the alternative given as my starter, should have been Salmon Gravadlax but was a tasteless piece of smoked salmon on what i could only imagine as a soggy scotch pancake! I had sea bass as my mains this too was tasteless the descriptions on the menu sounded good but overall were really nothing special my wife had to ask why she had not been given part of her order, the waitress didn't even realise it was on the menu and had to ask the chef she apologised but still came back with an incorrect item, T the end of the night we paid our bill which was just short of £120, we only had 1 beer each (men) and the ladies had a very mediocre bottle of wine, It is somewhere that i will be returning to as it was overpriced and unappetising , very disappointing!

we visited the Brasserie to celebrate our anniversary. we had a very warm welcome, and didn't get rushed to order food. the atmosphere was lovely, food was very good, with lots of choice. whilst waiting for our mains we had the tear and share bread, enough not to ruin our appetite. my partner opted for fish and chips, and I chose chicken pasta, both of which were presented beautifully and tasted even better.
the staff were very attentive, and we would highly recommend the Brasserie to everyone. we wanted to stay at the Swan but alas, it was fully booked that night. maybe next time....

The Swan Hotel was my wife's suggestion for our wedding anniversary, and we were not disappointed. We booked a four seater table in the window to view the evening delights of Stafford high street and indulge in some people watching. Very entertaining!
We visited the Swan some years ago and was very disappointed with the decor and the internal design. It was more like a airport departure lounge. Horrid! However the new layout is a vast improvement. It's now a classy dining experience.
Thursday is fish night, with an excellent fish menu which includes a bottle of wine. A very good deal!
Between the four of us we enjoyed the fish, chicken and lamb. No complaints at all, and we are critical diners. The 'To Share' boards are really good value.
The staff were friendly, professional and really couldn't do enough for us.
The only point to moan about was the car park. It wasn't clear if we had to pay or not. Too many signs with conflicting information. Anyway we didn't have to pay as we were diners.
We shall be going again!!
