“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

Delightful hosts for whom nothing was a problem, had a slight problem on the first night which was quickly dealt with and apologized for. Plenty to choose from at breakfast with lovely homemade jams which i wanted to take home with me. Room was clean and spacious, bed was lovely and comfortable. Excellent location only fifteen/twenty minutes from the train station and close to the town centre.

My husband stayed at the Kenwood Guest House in October of 2013. Wonderful stay and fabulous breakfast. I am a vegetarian and the vegetable sausage was amazing, potato cake was delicious and the perfectly cooked egg. The host and hostess were very helpful with our sight seeing and had great recommendations for places for us to have dinner. Rooms were perfect. Would definitely stay again!

Room Tip: Our room was on the front of the home facing the street but it was quiet. Charming atmosphere.

I stayed here along with my fiancé and a friend after a trip to Alton Towers. We were greeted by David on arrival who was very helpful and recommended some local places where we could go to eat. There was also a book in the room with recommendations of local pubs and restaurants from other guests in the past. The rooms were clean and comfortable which is all we needed and wanted for a short stay. I felt a lovely touch in the room was the homemade shortbread biscuits on the tea tray, they were delicious! We met Julie at breakfast in the morning who was also very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great with the choice of cooked breakfast, toast, homemade jams, pastries, cereal, tea, coffee and juice. Changes were made to the cooked breakfast without any fuss when there were options that weren't to our taste. For the price we paid per room we thought it was fantastic value and we will return in future if we are back at Alton Towers again.

Stayed here last week while working away from home, and found it to be a warm welcoming place to stay with plenty of parking spaces for my van, the room was spotless and clean, with a large lcd tv and full on suit facilities including a refrigerator, coffee and tea making facilities, warm water when needed and a comfy bed, couldn'nt ask for more, made to feel welcome as soon as I walked through the door, top place to stay.

Stayed for a couple of nights whilst visiting for a volunteers induction at the British Ceramic Biannual at the old Spode site. This B&B was the in the perfect location very close to the train station (5 or 10 mins) and only about 15 mins away from Spode site. In the other direction its only about 15 mins to the center of Hanley and its range of shops and restaurants. Also its located only just over the road from the attractive Hanley park - worth exploring. The host couple were really friendly and very helpful, and as others have mentioned breakfasts are amazing - especially the veggie full English with home made veggie sausages, and the home made complimentary biscuits in the room on arrival were delicious and very welcome. overall an excellent place to stay and would definitely recommend to others.
