“5 star guesthouse with personal touches which make the difference”
Reviewed 8 December 2013 via mobile

We stayed for 2 nights at this lovely guesthouse. We were treated to mince pies and mulled wine on arrival, home made biscuits, complimentary water and lovely spa toiletries in the room. Our room was spacious and had a lovely sofa and comfortable bed. The breakfast was sublime. Freshly cooked, to order with home made preserves and fresh bread. All served in a delightful room, with beautiful table linen and china cups. Better than the usual hotel buffet breakfast by far! And Julie and David are so welcoming and kind. What more could you ask for?! Excellent, we will visit again.

Lovely little room. Clean, comfortable and well appointed. I was upgraded from budget to standard on arrival. The owners couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Great cooked breakfast. There's also an amazing South Indian restaurant just up the road where you should have dinner. All in all, great value with a friendly touch. Thanks!

My partner and I stayed at the Kenwood on the 16th November. We used to stay regularly before the new owners took over. It was a lovely B+B then and I didn’t think much improvement could be made, but how wrong can you be. There is much more variety at breakfast with more cereals, fresh fruit salad and lovely homemade preserves. The full English breakfast was perfectly cooked and delicious. I am sure that a single bed had been removed from the room we were staying in, making it a much roomier and elegant space. The whole place is spotlessly clean and comfortable. I loved the home-made cookies in the room, plus all the other quality complimentary toiletries and hot drinks that are available. It is amazing that the Kenwood can provide so much for such a reasonable price. I know some other hotels in Stoke that should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

I would like to say a big thank you to Julie and David for such a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: There is no doubt a room to meet most needs. The executive suite on the first floor is a spacious an...

We stayed here for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. This is one of the best B&B's I have stayed in. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have a good size en-suite. Everything was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The hosts were very helpful and let us drop our bags off earlier in the day. The B&B is located in a central area and you can walk to parks and the canal path is nearby. We did walk into the town centre and that took us about 20 minutes. Can thoroughly recommend this B&B.

A friend and I came to stay here for an Alton Towers trip. The service was really excellent, the room was cosy and clean and we had a wonderful breakfast each morning we stayed.

This is a really great value option for those theme park trips

My husband & I had to have a couple of days in Stoke-On-Trent because of a family member being hospitalized there, & we were rushing around at the last minute trying to find somewhere. After reading the reviews, & the room was available, we decided to choose this one, & we certainly were not disappointed. We tried to get a basic en-suite room, but they were all spoken for, so we paid a little extra & booked the Executive double room, which had a very comfortable double bed, wardrobe & drawer space, large enough for a short break, & the décor was tastefully done as it was in the dining room as well. There was central heating, which was much appreciated. The room also had tea/coffee making facilities & they also supplied homemade biscuits which were delicious, it had a settee where we could chill out & watch the flat screen television, which was a Godsend as it was a bit of a hectic, stressful time. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, in a very clean, smart bathroom with toiletries provided, as well as a hairdryer. There were a choice of breakfasts from just cereals, yogurts, & fruit juices, with tea/coffee, to the full monty, & toast to follow. This was excellent value, & certainly set you up for the day. There are some car parking spaces, so there should be no problem for the drivers. Last but by no means least, hosts David & Julie were so friendly, & made us feel completely at home, which helps to make any break far more enjoyable. We would happily recommend this B&B/Guest House to anyone in the Stoke area. Thanks very much to them both. ENJOY!!

Room Tip: We did not see any of the other rooms, but imagine they are at the same high standard. Our room over...

We just spent two nights in this wonderful guest house and our experience was great! In this beautiful house everything is so nice and cozy: the room we had (ground floor) was perfect, beautifully decorated and with all the amenities we may need and more (a fridge with bottled water, a kettle with tea, coffee and homemade cookies - i loved them:-)), a full bathroom with hairdrier, a big screen TV, free WIFI); the breakfast room....so lovely! And breakfast was so good and plentiful we had no lunch on both days. Most of products are homemade, such as preserves and porridge. Delicious!
David and Julie, the owners, run the house with true passion and they are more than happy to help and suggest.
Last but not least: the location is perfect, centrally located in Stoke and close to the train station. We had a car and the house has a private parking on the rear.
I can only add: thank you very much for a great stay!
