Was searching for a hotel that was a good distance from Alton Towers and I think we picked one of the best hotels! It was £39 for the night for 2 of us and was around 25 minutes drive from the park. The hotel was clean and quiet and I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is joined with the Hungry Horse pub which means you don't have to go far for a good meal and the meals are also good value for money. The hotel is near a big Tesco and petrol station which is also handy.

Over the three nights the staff were helpful, particularly during a mix-up with the meal orders. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. A couple problems with the shower but got it working.

The pub meals were tasty and excellent value with a huge variety to suit all tastes.

No problems checking in or out and would stay again. Recommended for a short stay.

Room Tip: We made sure to have a room away from the reception/bar area and front car park as previous reviews...

I would have gladly paid more then what i did for this hotel!! absolutely brilliant!! The rooms are a little plain but clean and the beds were the comfiest i've slept in! I wasnt going to write a review but i've just read the reviews below and was shocked, especially to see a certain one, as I was stood right behind them on check in and remember it rather differently than how its made out below, lets just say a few details were missed out from the guests side!! As for the rest, you cant please everybody! think some people expect the hilton for £40 a night haha! the staff are amazing they will go the extra mile to help, i have a problem with eating in public and they even let brought my food to the room even though it isnt room service! Some improvements could be made such as better pillows but overall this is the best budget accomodation ive stayed in!! On check out i booked a weekend here next month for me and my partner, cant wait to come back! :)

Room Tip: ask for one upstairs as the floors are a little creaky

Stayed one night as it was close to Alton Towers.
Room was comfortable and adjoining restaurant and bar was exellent value for money.
Only big problem was breakfast not starting before 0800. Although the hotel shared its site with a McDonald's plus a large Tesco across the road.
Would definitely recommend it for a budget stay especially for Alton Towers

I have to agree with other reviewers. The operators of this hotel from the owners down to the on site management need a good swift kick in the behind. This could be a great place to stay but with the exception of the young lady who checked us in all the rest of the staff in the accommodation section were abysmal. They really couldn't care less. It was like we were an imposition on their time. No professionalism at all in any way. All they were interested in was getting people into the pub, fed and out the door again. The rooms were OK and clean and the hotel is well placed to use as a base to see the surrounding areas. What it needs is a management transplant with professional hoteliers who understand what service is replacing the current lot.

Room Tip: Get a room downstairs at the back away from the carpark it will be quieter.
