“fantastic beautiful walks - well made paths”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2013

good to walk any time of year due to good paths, easily accessable for push chairs - wheelchairs would have more of a challenge. - choice of walks - including flat or climbs . tea available at the lovely poachers cottage but service slow on busy days

“Nice place for a wander”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2013

Can't complain - this place is exactly what it says it is - a place to go for a walk. It quite pretty, very peacefull and the paths are easy to find and follow. They are doing a lot of felling work some some paths are a little chewed up at the moment. The Ramblers offers a place for a cuppa right next to the car park.

“lovely spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2013

Excellent spot, occasionally the peace might be interrupted by news from the Alton Towers theme park less than half a mile away (rides etc) but another bonus in the area is Alton Castle, which was used as a Hogwarts backdrop for some scenes in one of the earlier Harry Potter films. As other posters have said, the lanes around Dimmingsdale are very tranquil topped off by the excellent Rambler's Retreat cafe / restaurant which encourages walkers to 'call in' as long as you take off your muddy boots at the door.
