A really nice place ran by enthusiastic volunteers. The whole place is not "Slick" and business like, which is part of its attraction. The train runs through the most Beautiful countryside you could wish to see, and the ticket inspectors are a wealth of information about the surrounding countryside and trains alike.
The kids don't need much to do, however there are always activities for younger ones available.
The bar is wonderful with a variety of real ales to suit all tastes, while the food area provides good homemade food and mugs of tea or coffee.
All in all, a real step back in history and a great half a day out (or day out if you wish to catch the next train back and have a walk in the woods).
