Myself and friends visited Foxfield Railway last weekend, there was an event taking place celebrating the armed forces so lot's of people visiting which really made the afternoon for us! Lovely old fashioned station with Cafe and real ale bar. Unfortunately, the cafe ran out of chips and had to send to shops for fresh supply; not to worry though, there was a plentiful supply of sandwiches and cakes! The steam train trip is of about fifty minutes but you can ride as many times as you wish on the ticket. We elected to take "Steam & Cream" in the late afternoon which was a pleasant experience of afternoon tea on the steam train! Very good afternoon outing, will certainly do it again.

Visited Foxfield in June 2014 on one of their family days so added bonus for the kids to have bouncy castles to play on.

Lovely old railway station and great wee train journey on a steam train. Journey was long enough but could take train more than once if desired. Passengers could get off the train at Dilhorne station to watch the engine change ends and have their photo taken on the engine.

Our four year old son, who loves trains, had a great day out and would have happily stayed longer. He loved looking at all the old trains and watching staff restoring them. HIs Grandfather was equally enjoying his day.

Our daughter enjoyed finding the fairies in the station building and was rewarded with a chocolate for completing her activity sheet.

Staff very friendly and made the trip even more enjoyable. Lots of very knowledgeable, enthusiastic volunteers.

Kids loved the miniature railway ride which was well worth an extra pound each.

Thanks for a great family day out.

Had a brilliant Steam Train Drive experience absolutely amazing! First time here and will definitely not be the last...fantastic place, lovely friendly people. Great facility's, super cafe with home cooked food, cakes to die for! Nice little bar as well. All the staff really friendly and full of information and history of the trains etc.
Remember your camera as loads of photo opportunities for great memories.
Would recommend anyone to try it,male or female and not just enthusiasts, never dreamt I would drive a steam train!

Visited Foxfield Railway yesterday for the first time. Great set up with engine sheds which you can look around and with some engines having an info sheet on them with a question at the end so children can try and answer. Adults as well as I had a go!! Lovely cafe with stunning cakes and also a bar. Guard on the train was a great comic and also talked us through some of the sights on the route. Would definitely go again if I am ever up that way again.

Went to the foxfield railway today for the first time, plenty of parking,
Train journey 5 mile round trip.
Nice to see they can help out the locals as well, dropping off someone at the farm on the way .
Staff very pleasent, guard gave us a bit of the railway history as he was doing his rounds.
Great facility's also buffet, and bar used by visitors and locals , by the looks of things.
If your in the area defiantly worth a visit
