We stayed at the Wentworth for a weekend break with some friends who had stayed a few years ago. We had rooms over looking the sea and the vista was wonderful! The hotel was of excellent standard and the rooms decorated and updated very tastefully and were spotlessly clean,
The food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service and I must make a special mention of Kathy in the restaurant who was an absolute character and lovely.
All in all a lovely weekend stay and we will be back.

Room Tip: Sea view!!

We stayed at the Wentworth as part of a group of old friends for two nights over a weekend. I rarely give five stars as you always need something to aspire to but this Hotel came close. I work in the Hotel industry and am very critical of poor service, poor maintenance and poor value. The Wentworth, in my view, is one the best regional hotels that I have stayed in of it's category. The bedrooms are very clean and well maintained, well designed and thought out. The food is of a very good standard, reasonably priced and a good, value for money wine list (a particularly good Suffolk white wine). The service was attentive but not intrusive. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this property as on the basis of our visit they deserve it.

Visiting friends in the area so stayed one night, its pleasant and in a nice location with everything in walking distance. Very busy little village with loads of tourists. The food was good and the standard was high, much better than many city places. I will stay again for longer and recommend it.

I have stayed many times at this outstanding hotel, but I had not been there for a few years, my wife wanted to try it so off we went.

What a good decision it was, we have gone back to many places in the past and been disappointed, but not at The Wentworth, it was better than I remember!!

A lovely hotel, food superb, staff top notch, plus very attentive, rooms beautiful, situation stunning.

We will be going back in 2015, if not before.

Room Tip: Take a sea view room 14 is lovely.

This is a very special place and we are truly enamoured with it. The hotel itself is charming; indeed, according to a fellow guest, 'magical.' As we had booked without a deal many months ago for our Silver Wedding celebration, our expectations were high; it lived up to these ...and more. We loved the views across to the fishermen's huts and down to the sea, the choice of lounges with the luxurious furnishings, the well-planted gardens and colourful planters, our bedroom and fabulous bathroom in Darfield House, the wonderful food and our table in the conservatory/ garden lounge with our dog, Lucy - Thank You, Roger. We know we shall return, and bring others to share in this magical experience with us.

Room Tip: Darfield House -1st floor room facing the garden has a luxurious bathroom with bath & shower

We are delighted that you chose to spend your sliver wedding celebration with us. We are certainly blessed with being right on the sea front and the views can be gorgeous.

The lounges receive excellent praise and the furnishings and artwork are always chosen with a sense of pride by the proprietor who works here actively

Hopefully Lucy enjoyed her time here too and she is welcome back any time, as are you of course

Thank you again for leaving such a lovely review

We have stayed at the Wentworth on several occasions and never had a bad experience. This time we stayed in the annex with friends and would definitely book to stay there again. The room was huge with comfy chairs. King size bed with duck down pillows. The food was amazing with a good range of food for people like me who is a non meat eater.
Our friends brought their dog and they felt it was one of the most welcoming places they had stayed bringing the dog. I accept a dog smell (previous reviewers complaint) is annoying but surely if they had asked to have the matter dealt with on arrival it would have been sorted out. A place to stay if you want a restful break with open fire and soft gentle ambiance. No music or noise - perhaps geared to the over 50's!

Room Tip: Annex has larger rooms with king size beds.

Thank you for leaving a review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us and particularly liked Darfield House.

Your comments regarding the food will be passed on to the kitchen.

I am pleased the dog was made to feel welcome. We do welcome all dogs with well behaved owners. There is rarely a smell in any of the bedrooms as many guests will testify to and we do try and sort out any problems as soon as we are made aware. It is obviously preferable for this to happen on arrival rather than on departure. We do understand that some guests are hesitant to complain when they first arrive

Your comments are greatly appreciated and we hope to welcome you back in the near future

We went to Aldeburgh and decided to stay at the Wentworth for the night. We were quoted £139 for a double inland room including a three course dinner, bed and breakfast which we thought was excellent value.
The bedroom we were given was lovely but unfortunately when we opened the bathroom, it stank of dogs. We realised in reception that the hotel welcomed dogs which isn't a problem for us but we did not expect the room to smell so strongly as it really let the room down.
Dinner was pleasant with a good selection of seafood (for an additional supplement) and meat dishes.
The other issue that we have with the hotel was that after dinner, we were relaxing in our room when all of a sudden, a member of staff unlocked our door and came in!!! She was very apologetic but it left is somewhat shocked.
The breakfast was fabulous with a great selection and our full English was a real delight.
We didn't want to leave a bad review for the hotel as we realised it maybe wasn't aimed at people our age etc so when we checked out we decided to report our worries with the front of house member of staff hoping that they would apologise suitably. We would then not need to leave a review which was anything less than the fact we had a pleasant stay.
However, upon explaining things to the front of house, our compliant was dismissed as "housekeeping spend a lot of time trying to stop the smell of dogs".
We were very annoyed by this as it is no excuse for a room which smelt strongly of dogs. The fact is that despite housekeeping's efforts, the rooms do in fact smell of dogs and to none dog owners, this is unacceptable or should have been explained to us upon check in and we could have chosen to stay somewhere else.
However, all in all, the hotel was nicely furnished and decorated with lots of communal places to sit and relax, great breakfast and fabulous location.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry there was a smell in your bathroom. Your bathroom had been recently painted so I'm not sure if that was the odour you encountered. We rarely have a problem with the smell of dogs but if this was the case then I apologise profusely. This should not have been the case.

I am also sorry that the receptionist did not deal with your comments in the correct manner. She is fairly new here and should have relayed to a duty manager straight away.

The entering of your room was due to the window needing to be closed because, as mentioned above, the ceiling had just been painted. The duty manager thought the room was unoccupied at the time

I would be grateful if you could contact me and I can deal with these shortfalls with you directly

Kind regards and best wishes
