“average food but above average flies”
Reviewed 8 January 2014

This place is average at best like a few others in Aldeburgh, they seem to think that it is beneath them to serve mere mortals and yet the same people are quite happy to let the flies that for some reason plague the eateries in Aldeburgh have the run of the place, meals cannot be eaten without having to constantly waft them away. We go to nearby Thorpeness every year and I have to say I love both places equally but the flies just spoil the town

“Great as always”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

We are regular visitors to Aldeburgh and like Aldeburgh Fish and Chips we always fit in a Munchies Full English breakfast during our stay.

Staff very friendly and very accommodating (especially appreciated when 3 year old twins are in tow!)

I think it's the quality of ingredients that makes this place stand out. Very tasty local bacon and sausages and eggs cooked perfectly.

We also get take-away coffees from here and again quality is very good.

Well done Munchies

“Dirty toilet”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

We have been going to Munchies for a fair few years and on the whole we have enjoyed the food.
In my most recent visit, we had lunch,i was really disappointed with the cleanliness of the toilet, as the handle of the toilet door was absolutely disgusting, covered in grimy marks that had not been cleaned in a long time,it really put me off my food as the toilet is in very close proximity to the seating where you eat.
Possibly i should have informed the manager, but i have always felt a little nervous of her as she comes across as quite officious and scary.

“Good coffee, nice place to sit outside with the dog”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

On a sunny December morning we enjoyed sitting outside, in the comfy green cushioned bucket seats, watching the world go by. The coffee was good and service friendly. The dogs enjoyed meeting all the other Aldeburgh dogs, too. £9 plus for a regular americano & latte, plus a danish each ... this is Aldeburgh!

At least we could get a coffee here, the Brudenell decided today that they don't serve coffee outside before 10am, but we have had coffee there before at 9am, hey ho.
