“The best fish ever !!”
Reviewed 3 May 2014 via mobile

We decided to stop at this little fish and chip restaurant up a narrow flight of stairs. And OMG it was wonderful !!! The food was out of this world, our portions was huge and the staff were so nice, friendly and helpful. Another great thing about this place (for us anyway) is no children under 3 years of age, so no kids running around or screaming. Highly recommended :-) would give more stars if possible.

“Lovely Fish and chips by the sea”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

We visit this fish and chip shop and always try to sit in the restaurant to have our meal.

The food is great and well worth the visit, although you have to take your own alcohol. They do charge a corkage fee but it is not much as you can save on this by getting the drink from the local off license which is a big saving on the normal bar prices.

Also nice to go for a walk along the sea front afterwards to lose a few of those calories.

“Beats all other Fish and Chip restaurants”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

Having looked up their website, I knew they had two takeaways and a small upstairs restaurant. Visited about 12.30 on a Sunday lunchtime, there was already a decent queue outside the Golden Galleion for the takeaway and about 6 people waiting outside the entrance to the Upper Deck, so we plumped to take a chance at getting a table. Luckily we only waited five minutes, the lady serving was very helpful (she must have to run up and down the stairs during all of service ferrying diners) The restaurant seats about 30. The first table we had was opposite the door and when some others vacated we asked to move to a corner table and there was no problem at all. Our drinks came quickly and our meals took about another 10 minutes. Chips are lovely and crisp and fresh and the batter the fish is cooked in is so light and crispy, it is the best I have tasted (and the batter is not my favourite normally at any time, so good job) You can choose a small or a larger size portion, there is a small menu offering fish, scampi, some variety of burgers and children's meals. Also some puddings and ice cream. All very reasonably priced, excellent value for money, nicely themed, well attended by the servers and some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. Dessert was quite acceptable too. Well worth an early visit if you are in the area looking for lunch!

“Great fish and chips”
Reviewed 21 March 2014 via mobile

Visited on a windy Monday lunchtime. Service was quick and friendly, fish and chips were fresh, hot and crispy. Both the plaice and haddock were a good size and very tasty! Nothing to complain about :-). I'd definitely go back if in the area. Go visit! Their sister chippy is not open on Monday lunchtime but this one is, for both sit in and take away.

“Staff in the upper deck extremely rude”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

Food very good but the waitress humiliated myself and friends while waiting for our meal. Will not return or recommend to others. Very rude.
