“Lovely pint!”

A very well kept pint. Nice for an afternoon drink with the dog who was center of attention which she loves.

“Fab Pub!”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

I'm a regular visitor to Aldeburgh and there are only 2 pubs I frequent there - the Cross Keys and the White Hart.

The White Hart has a very distinct character - and has done for many years. In the 80's, it was fondly known as 'The Potty Bar' - due to the fact that it had hundreds of chamber pots hanging on the ceiling and run by the wonderfully eccentric Dicky Bird. My highlight at that pub was around 1980 seeing a rather 'refreshed' Rick Parfitt from Status Quo singing the Tisawas 'Bucket of Water Song'. Aaah... memories!

Unfortunately the potties and Dicky have moved on, but it still maintains its quirky character. The bar staff are nice and the people who drink there are polite and respectful. I haven't eaten the food, but I understand the pizzas you can get around the back are great.

If you are looking for a nice place to have a quick pint - I can't recommend this place enough. And from all the other positive reviews, everyone else loves this pub too.

“Cosy and friendly with good beer”
Reviewed 27 February 2014

Have visited this pub a few times now. Always a warm welcome in winter an open fire which makes it very cosy. The beer is always good along with other drinks. Good selection as well.
Winter or summer you can really chill out here and feel comfortable alongside the locals who are friendly. You can eat pizza in the summer and fish and chips as long as you buy a drink here. Good old fashioned English pub.

“Old fashioned pub, and better for it!”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

In the not too distant past there were many lovely pubs selling a good pint of beer. Times change and many are now closed or restaurants with perhaps a small bar where drinkers take play second fiddle to diners. The White Hart offers a single bar pub, dog friendly, roaring fire when cold, friendly staff and locals and above all, a superb pint of beer. And, if you do want to eat you can get an artisan made pizza around the back in the summer or in the overrated fish and chip shop next door. Great pub.
