“Theater Royal BSE”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

One of the best Theatre in the country, if not quite the smallest. Since its severe make over a few years back it ticks all the boxes. Its a delightful venue for some very excellent productions. The seating has everything from the stalls to the Gods, even if the boxes are a little "cosy". The refreshment area really has had a complete metamorphosis, a comfortable seating area and a well stocked bar, even if it is all Greene King!. There is a very active events program in addition to a very complete mix of productions. Worth a visit.

A really lovely old restored theatre with a great history. The large bar area (with outside area) is a bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here.

“Ballet is Ballet”

If you are looking for Ballet, this is the place. We saw the "Christmas Carol", and it was a very faithful rendition. Good dancing and music. Nice for a date if you owe the wife one.

“Hmmmm - smell that atmosphere!”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

This is a cracking Regency theatre. OK - the first rows in the pit (stalls) suffer a little from being on the level but the Dress Circle boxes are friendly with cosy seating which do require some dexterity to get in and out - but it makes for a good laugh!. Where else can you see a working Regency Thetare with such atmosphere. And talking of atmosphere, towards the end of our matinee performance today the adjacent Greene King brewery must have started off a new brew - and the whole auditorium was perfused with that beautiful smell of malting barley....Hmmmm!
