We stayed in room 3 a few weeks ago and were blown away by our stay in this beautiful hotel. Everything was 100% perfect. We had the best 3 nights sleep ever on a vast bed. We were most impressed by furnishings and fittings, everything designed with practicality but oozing quality. The food was also to a high standard, reasonably priced, a varied menu and a full english to die for. Likewise the staff were all very professional but in a friendly, approachable way, nothing was ever too much trouble. We loved every part of our stay and should we visit Bury St Edmunds again, it will only be when the Fox Inn has a vacancy.
Thank you and well done, one and all !

Spent the evening at the Fox Inn with family for a meal. On arrival we found it to be a lovely old pub mainly given over to the restaurant. The staff we warm and inviting making us feel welcome. Not a massive menu but certainly adequate for most and your certain to fine several dishes to choose from. Our food was well presented and tasted excellent being full of flavour. With wine and drinks the cost was about £40 each so not overly expensive for the quality of food and service. Only one little grumble was that one of the waitresses did mumble when she spoke, perhaps she was new and a bit shy!
We would certainly return and recommend this restaurant

Room Tip: Great place in Bury with plenty of parking

We spent a night here on the way from Brighton to north Norfolk. It was a perfect stopover. The accommodation was first rate, very clean with plenty of room. It's just a minute or so to walk to the town centre. Bury St Edmunds was a really nice town with many independent shops and things to see.The food in the Inn was very good, particularly the breakfast. There was plenty of car parking.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will go back next time we head that way.

For some reason, we had been upgraded (at no extra cost) to the hayloft for our 2 night stay which meant we had a spacious, well equipped room with the most comfortable bed in the world. Slightly strange assortment of windows and skylights and there isn't a view (except of the car park) but we had no complaints. The room and bathroom were spotless. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were perfect with a good choice of local produce and our one meal in the pub was very good (one of the best pork bellies ever with crackling to die for). Definitely recommended if you want a bed or a meal in Bury St E.

This is the second time we have visited The Fox and we all (3) enjoyed the Sunday Lunch. Service was excellent, as was the food ( 2 x beef roast and 1 x pork roast).

We also felt that the overall price was very favourable. We will be back!

My partner and i came to The Fox Inn for a Sunday Roast Dinner. The restaurant was lovely and quaint despite us being the only ones there. We both ordered the roast dinner, when it arrived it did not have everything that the menu had mentioned, my partner asked where these items were which were then brought over to us. The food was not very nice. The stuffing was so sweet and was broken like a crumble that it felt that it did not belong on a main course. The vegetables were soggy and the meat of which should have been chicken and beef was beef and pork, neither of which were very nice. This is a lovely place to go for a drink but the roast dinner this time was not very nice. Hopefully it will be nicer next time!

Sorry for the late review, but a big thank you for our upgrade to the hayloft suite! We visited at the end of February and once again we really enjoyed our short stay. The breakfast service was first class and evening meal was lovely. We really appreciate your kindness and hospitality. We look forward to visiting Bury St Edmunds in the summer. Easter best wishes to all the staff at The Fox!
