Me and my new husband stayed here for the weekend following our wedding for a very short break away. We stayed two night in the Hayloft suite which was gorgoeous. I wanted the bring the bed back with me so comfortable and pillows lovely. There are lovely features in the room with beams and chandeliers and a open bath. Staff friendly and breakfast lovely. You can walk to Bury town centre in less than 10 minutes and walk through the park to for a more scenic route.

Room Tip: Hayloft suite lovely

I am usually very critical of places I stay at or dine but I really could not fault The Fox in anything. We stayed in one of lesser rooms on the ground floor and even this was above standard that could be expected in this price range. The room was big, clean and quiet. All fixtures were new and bathroom was roomy and well appointed.
The breakfast was a other example of how carefully every detail was thought of. Good quality juices, yogurts and spreads and then amazing cooked breakfast with choices of smoked fish, eggs or meats.
We dined at the Fox for one evening of our two nights. Very inventive menu and reasonably priced.
I look very hard to find faults but here could find none. Well done to The Fox and their staff!

This was our second short break here. We stayed for 3 nights in the Hayloft suite. Fantastic is the only word to describe it. Was so nice to go back somewhere where nothing had changed, food was excellent, accommodation excellent and the staff very efficient and friendly. Have to say its a real pleasure to eat somewhere that has excellent food that is freshly prepared and that even the simple things like the marmalade is home made. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

We have visited Bury St Edmunds several times, but this is our first stay at the Fox Inn, the staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. We stayed in Room 3, has a spacious car park, the room (Room 3), was exceptional, with underfloor heating. It was clean, comfortable and luxurious. We're going back in August and looking forward to staying in the Hayloft! The food was very enjoyable, although I found it a little too dark in the dining area, would have liked more light to see what I was eating, but still enjoyed the food!

We stayed in room 3 a few weeks ago and were blown away by our stay in this beautiful hotel. Everything was 100% perfect. We had the best 3 nights sleep ever on a vast bed. We were most impressed by furnishings and fittings, everything designed with practicality but oozing quality. The food was also to a high standard, reasonably priced, a varied menu and a full english to die for. Likewise the staff were all very professional but in a friendly, approachable way, nothing was ever too much trouble. We loved every part of our stay and should we visit Bury St Edmunds again, it will only be when the Fox Inn has a vacancy.
Thank you and well done, one and all !

Spent the evening at the Fox Inn with family for a meal. On arrival we found it to be a lovely old pub mainly given over to the restaurant. The staff we warm and inviting making us feel welcome. Not a massive menu but certainly adequate for most and your certain to fine several dishes to choose from. Our food was well presented and tasted excellent being full of flavour. With wine and drinks the cost was about £40 each so not overly expensive for the quality of food and service. Only one little grumble was that one of the waitresses did mumble when she spoke, perhaps she was new and a bit shy!
We would certainly return and recommend this restaurant

Room Tip: Great place in Bury with plenty of parking
