“Super get away”
Reviewed 4 February 2014

The Fox Inn is fantastic for a get away. The accommodation is excellent, with the most comfortable of beds I think I have ever slept in, the room was beautifully decorated and a lovely bathroom, with excellent toiletries. The rooms are away from the main building in an old stable block, which means you are away from any noise, it is though only a 30 second walk to go for the wonderful breakfast. Bob and has staff were extremely friendly and I feel would do anything to make your stay a happy one. I can't praise the Fox Inn highly enough! Well worth every penny.

Room Tip: We were room 5 and it was fantastic

The room was absolutely beautiful it had everything you could ever need. You could stay there without taking a single thing with you as your every need is catered for. The bed was pure luxury. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. The location is perfect, just opposite the Abbey gardens which leads you to the Cathedral then across the road is the town and market. All staff at the Inn are happy, polite and nothing is too much trouble, excellent service. Would highly recommend to all.

Room Tip: All rooms seem equally luxurious.

Have been to this pub on many occasions as we live locally, This is the first time we have been since the place has changed hands, We will not be going again, The menu is much to big to be freshly prepared, the previous menu was small and very local. we ordered jacket potatoes they had been cooked in the microwave so were soggy and very tiny, They also took approx 40 minutes to arrive, apology given they had a large party in and the kitchen had a rush on. If we want this quality of food we would go to a rather large chain in the town center who do food like this much much better and at more reasonable prices. So disappointing.

There were 20 of us celebrating Christmas on Sunday 22nd December late afternoon, the whole family from 6months to 66yrs. We were made to feel so welcome, they were very well organised, we were all together in our own area, the atmosphere was homely and welcoming. The food came out piping hot and we were all served at the same time which was quite impressive. The food was of an excellent quality and was very tasty and for the price was really good although a few more vegetables would have gone down well ( we love our veg) . It was a surprise when Father Christmas arrived, an added extra which really made the occasion. All in all a lovely time was had by all and we look forward to next year when we can all meet up again at the Fox Inn.

Stayed at the Fox for one night mid week en route to a business meeting. Thought the room and bathroom were both excellent and very good value. It is true the rooms look out on the car park and the cars do park right up against the doors to the bedrooms--didn't bother me at all but can see it might be an irritant.
Breakfast next morning was good with prompt and friendly service. Couldn't fault my stay and would use The Fox again if in the area
