“wedding day bliss.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013

two bridesmaids, one usher , one bride , stayed in the tudor suite . rooms were clean, fresh and well maintained . breakfasts were fantastic and set us up for the big day, on return with groom and a few guest, again rooms cleaned and stocks replenished. sunday morning , a little less exuberance from us but a full english of fresh local ingredients and a pot of hot coffee, saw us on our way . paying the bill was a joy, and would stay again gladly.

Room Tip: tudor annex is superb . room 17 .

We stayed as a party of 9 in July, found the hotel easily located very close to town centre. Rooms of a good standard and very clean - free parking was a bonus.

The hotel has wifi with good speed, found the breakfast excellent in selection and quality.

We highly rate this hotel and will return.

I stayed at the Chantry for two nights in early July 2013 while visiting Bury St Edmunds for a wedding . The hotel was very good . The location is great - 5 minutes walk from the centre of the town with free parking. My room was comfortable and very clean . The staff were helpful and friendly . Breakfast was great - a wide choice , including a cooked full English breakfast if you want it . The hotel was peaceful and quiet and great value for money . I would thoroughly recommend the Chantry - if you are looking for fancy decor and lots of facilities then this might not be the place for you , but if you want a very clean and comfortable and good value place to stay in the centre of Bury St Edmunds , then this is a good choice .

I last stayed here about 18months ago and have to say that on my recent 2nd stay here, numerous small improvements were noted (probably due to being taken back into family management).
I stayed in room 17 (a superior room) which was a sight for sore eyes after 2 nights in a diabolical hotel in Cambridge!
Free parking, super fresh breakfast and very comfortable room. Can recommend this place.

Enjoyed our 1 night stay especially the breakfast. Tasty, good quality ingredients. The room had everything we needed except a wifi connection which for £120 a night would expect this facility in the room. Connection was good in the breakfast room. A quiet spot in an excellent location with the added private parking as a real plus. I would recommend without hesitation and will definitely return when visiting Bury St Edmunds.

I stayed here a couple of weekends ago with my rather large family and what a lovely little B&B this is. Beautifully located in the hub of the gorgeous town, Bury St Edmunds, the couple who run the hotel have obviously really thought about the minor details which make a hotel stay really pleasant, and they were very welcoming.
We stayed in the family suite, which had 2 double beds in an open-plan style adjoining room - the kids loved it. We all slept very comfortably (nice quality bedding), the shower was good, there were tea & coffee facilities, iron & ironing board, and the restaurant served us a lovely fresh full English Breakfast (kids loved the croissants and continental breakfast bar!) When my 6 year old daughter asked if they had any nutella chocolate spread, the lady even got some out of her own kitchen for us to use... now that's a personal service!
Would definitely return. Very sweet, clean, tidy, traditional but really well-refurbished hotel.

Room Tip: If you can afford the extra space, or have children, go for the family suite!
