Just returned from a 2 night break and I could only say 'wow what a beautiful place'... The location was amazing and the property too. The charming hotel has bags of character in every corner. The room we stayed in was 'the deans room' , very spacious , beautifully decorated and had gorgeous views. Even after getting an extra bed in the room for my daughter still there was loads of space.

We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the food was awesome. Even the kids meal was presented to a very high standard. We were blown away by the presentation and the taste of the food considering that this hotel is only a 3 star. We have stayed in hotels which is given 5 star but we can't really think how they received that for the half of the things that Ravenwood offered. The service was fantastic from the owner to the waiter... Helpful, friendly and always willing to go that extra mile. The owner even asked at dinner if we want anything special made for my daughter incase she does not fancy what's on the kids menu..

All in all everything was fantastic and we can't wait to go back ....

Our second visit, we selected the Easter deal (2 nights, inc 2 dinners & afternoon tea on arrival) because the food is excellent, & were again impressed. Relaxing quiet environment. Friendly humorous service. Beautiful gardens for a country stroll. Location handy to visit Bury (short drive). Thank you.

I had booked a Mews room but was upgraded to the Abbey room in the main building. On arrival I received a warm welcome and was helped by Samy to take my luggage to the room. The room is full of character with a large bed, Large wooden commode to use a step up if needed, a nice fireplace and plenty of storage space. The bathroom was also in keeping with a good range of toiletries. My table in the popular restaurant had been reserved and the meal was exquisite. I had potted shrimps to start, followed by pork and then a chocolate dessert. Even though I was brought the wrong dessert, it was still delicious. Breakfast the following morning was a calm and pleasant experience. The hotel is an excellent location for business or pleasure. I would recommend it to anyone without reservation.

Before I retired as a wedding photographer, I never had no problem recommending the Ravenwood Hall Country Hotel. The staff are so helpful and the locations a photographers dream.
You have to book early for weddings, its a great place, and the owners continually update and spend money to make this location and guest experience better and better.

Have spent several lovely Sunday lunches in the Summer and one freezing cold snowy wedding, which made my feet cold, the pictures looked fabulous.

Go and see this place, its a great location, near to Bury St Edmunds, close to road and rail links
I don't accept wedding commissions any more, I am retired, so have no problem recommending this super place.

Room Tip: Look for room's facing the great lawn at the front, the view is superb.

Decided to visit this hotel for lunch with friends. From the moment we arrived, it was clear we had made the right decision. First class staff, and food beyond belief. Wonderful setting, comfortable and warm. Extremely friendly. Superb dining experience, thankyou.

We bought a deal off of Travelzoo to stay at Ravenwood for my husbands 40th birthday. We have two boys under two and so we really needed time to wind down and to spend some quality time together, and Ravenwood provided just that. We arrived to afternoon tea with champagne, a treat I will never forget. Tea was served in gorgeous silverware and the scones were huge and extremely tasty. We took a trip into Lavenham for a walk around the shops. The village had a lovely feel to it, and a comforting smell of log fires. The service at Ravenwood was fantastic, especially over our six course taster dinner. The bed was cosy and as the hotel is situated in the countryside, the room was extremely peaceful.

I would definitely recommend Ravenwood in the winter, for that open fire cosy feeling. I'd like to return in the summer to try out their open swimming pool.

I had a golden wedding anniversary party here. The day was very much enjoyed but this was very much due to some very good friends rather than the hotel. The organisation and the preparation of the room was terrible with little attention given to making it attractive. We had to move tables, chairs ourselves within a short timeframe to improve it. The food was badly presented and very poor quality. The staff and owner were incredibly unhelpful. As a family we had been visiting the hotel for over 10 years with no complaint but on the one day it really mattered they very much let us down.
