As a hotelier of some 10 years standing - all in 4 star hotels, I can only tell you of my absolute admiration for the manner in which Christine & Michael run this wonderful, luxurious and personal establishment. From the moment your car turns into their gates you are aware that this is all run for you and you alone. My husband & I were in the area for a wedding and had the great good fortune to be booked in there for what I can promise will be the first of many visits.
The rooms are stylishly furnished down to the last detail, even a torch and binoculars! the hospitality tray has so many choices of biscuits and a flask of fresh milk, unheard of in most hotels!
A very strong little housekeeping team is evident in the gleam of chrome, tiles & sparkling glass.
The breakfasts are gold star awards in the making, all freshly cooked to order by Chris with Michael on hand with limitless pots of tea/coffee and toast.
Preserves are all from their orchards, set among beautiful grounds where the hens are free to lay your breakfast egg, the 3 cats (which stole our hearts) wait for their ears to be rubbed and the Koi Carp swim towards you in the hope of yet another Koi stick.
A lounge that makes you want to lay on the big sofas and read, play one of the numerous board games provided or perhaps just laze the morning away imagining the huge fireplace full of blazing logs.
As if all the above wasnt enough Michael will be your complimentary chauffer down to the local pub and Steve the landlord will give you a great dinner and bring you home himself! (you will notice I just said home) no charge for the ride.
It was wonderful - if you are in the area, please try it, if you are not, go there anyway!!
Thanks Chris & Michael, see you again soon.

Room Tip: any room - Michael gave me a guided tour, they are all perfect

We were very lucky, we did book for 12 nights and had a wonderful stay, everything was lovely. Christine and Michael are very good host and we have enjoyed every minute of our stay.
Nothing was too much, even a birthday present for our son. Rooms are wonderfull and very clean, lovely breakfast and gorgeous coffee and don't forget to eat the rubarb mmmmm...
Even our son ( 16 now) had a wonderfull time, the fish, the turtles, the chickens and the cats, and his mum loved the dogs, so all 3 of us had a great holiday. I miss the chocolate on my pillow ...
Always willing to give you advice, wether it's traveling or were to eat, always there for the guest. One thing we do know certain, we will be back. So when you are looking for a lovely B&B don't hesitate but book it. Have a lovely time.

Belated thanks for your kind review - it is appreciated. We remember your visit fondly, the football and the story at breakfast from the guest who knew George Best!

I had the pleasure of resting at this most beautiful, warm, welcoming Bed and Breakfast home in beautiful Suffolk countryside. Christine and Michael are superb hosts and made me most welcome in their beautiful home. The attention to detail in every way was second to none. Everywhere is spotless and the inspirational garden is a delight. 3 beautiful dogs add an extra dimension for all who love nature. I strongly recommend this to anyone who wishes to have a most enjoyable stay in this unique place. I felt 100% at home and look forward to my next stay in this excellent value home.

John and I spend 3 nights at the Ambers, Excellent could nt fault anything
Greeted on arrival by Christine, and Mike ( just arrived back off his bike ride )shown to our room, can honestly say everything was to the highest standard , furnishings beautiful, and everything top quality .
The' Red Room' our room for our stay had patio doors which opened onto beautiful garden with a well stock Koi carp pond, lovely seating area, and picturesque grounds.
Had a welcome coffee piece of home made chocolate cake in the very lovely and spacious
guest lounge.
Extremely comfortable bed and plush furnishings - a very handy sofa, well stocked bookcase with DVD and Games , its all the small touches that make such a difference.
Breakfast was brilliant , all fresh local produce, even the eggs were laid fresh that morning and every morning , fresh fruit from the garden everyday , totally spoilt for choice, definitely an award winning breakfast , really set us up for the day , served in the stunning farm house kitchen, seated on a giant wooden table with 4 other guests, they were equally happy .
This is an amazing bed and breakfast where everything is top notch, nothing was to much trouble for our hosts Christine and Mike.
An ideal location for a relaxing retreat, or a base to explore the surrounding countryside and the near by town of Bury St Edmunds.
My Son will be spending a few years in the Raf base at Bury , and we will definitely be visiting again, and look forward to another stay in time to come .
Simply The Best

We loved this B&B the decor was beautiful and the owners Christine & Michael so friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The house, lounge, bedroom and breakfast room were spotless. We really enjoyed our breakfast - it was delicious! The garden was extensive and beautiful. Definately a place we would return to if travelling that way again. V&K East Sussex
