“Another Fantastic Stay”
Reviewed 14 October 2012

Returned again to Drinkstone and the welcome was just as warm as the first time we came! The weather was much different to our previous visit, we could explore the gardens this time without them being covered in a foot of snow! A stunning garden with fabulous views of the Suffolk countryside, joined by the friendly cats who seemed to be showing us around! Excellent breakfast, good size and what made it better was knowing it was all locally sourced - homemade jams, bread, marmalade and the eggs from the hens outside. The room was exceptionally clean with all the little touches which made you feel special - from the cold milk container down to the pillow mints. A firm matress, soft pillows and a heavy duvet meant I slept like a baby even on the first day (you know what I mean, I didnt wake up every hour and cry!) Our 2nd visit, our 3rd in December 2012, and the 4th yet to be decided!

Room Tip: All rooms have stunning views, all are cleaned to a high standard, comfy beds and have well stocked...

We recently stayed at Drinkstone park after my girlfriends parents recommended it. It was just like they said it would be. Our room was lovely and very comfortable and the garden was perfect for taking a nice little walk. The breakfast was the best full english i've ever had too, delicious. As for Michael and Christine, the perfect hosts.

I am rarely blown away by customer service anywhere, but Drinkstone Park topped the list. When we arrived at the small B&B outside Bury St. Edmunds we were greeted by the owners, Michael and Christine, with one of the most heartfelt receptions I’ve ever received at a B&B. Their loveliness definitely raised our stay from good to great. The gardens were meticulously kept and we were followed around by a one of their cats the whole time. It’s the perfect B&B if you are an animal lover. Even the cats made you feel welcome at every turn!

Breakfast was delicious and we were given lots of options (including American pancakes!). The eggs were freshly laid by their own hens and reminded me of growing up in the country. It’s hard to even pin down exactly what made it such a lovely stay, but I think their genuine desire to make you feel at home

Their welcome was extremely warm, we appreciated the refreshments on arrival.
Our bedrooms were first class with highest quality fittings.
Freshly cooked quality breakfast with a choice of menu which was substantial.
Michael and Christine were most helpful, and we would highly recommend this B+B to anyone.

Stayed 4 days with Michael & Christine, what a wonderful time we had. The surroundings were superb and as for the room it was first class. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made so welcome and the breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stop there again.

We recently stayed with Christine and Michael for 5 nights and we could not have enjoyed it more! They are a most hospitable couple and their amenities are excellent. We particularly enjoyed the surroundings; lovely gardens, magnificent trees, beautiful fish and the most glorious hens who lay delicious eggs! Christine cooks breakfast to perfection. Michael went above and beyond the call of duty when he met us with our passports which we had safely left locked up! All in all a B & B experience second to none. Thank you for everything!

I have stayed in Michael's and Christine's house for the third time in beginning of September and I have to say it is an incredible B&B. They have a fantastic house with spacious rooms, very clean, well maintained, drinks making facilities and all very comfortable. The garden is a delight to look at and to stroll around. But the best of my stay has always been the way the couple made me feel: at home. They did everything for me and were always up for a chat, a lovely couple and nothing is too much trouble for them. Breakfast is unbelievably good, eggs from their hens, great cooked breakfast, locally pressed apple juice, cereals. my daily treat were homemade blueberry pancakes with honey or maple syrup, what a great way to start a day!

After I came home, Christine or Michael always greeted me with a nice cup of tea and homemade scones with butter, jam and clotted cream which I usually enjoyed in the sunshine or in the little beach hut they have in their garden.

Michael and Christine are able to turn a luxurious B&B in a lovely home environment where you feel welcomed and appreciated, I am definitively going to visit them with my family next year!

Manuel
