“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2013

Arriving late, in the snow and with little notice we received such a warm and friendly welcome. We were too tired to drive to the local pub so Christine took pity on us and rustled up supper followed by homemade scones which we ate in the sitting room in front of the fire. The bedroom was extremely comfortable with a lovely en suite bathroom. The full English breakfast was a delicious guilty pleasure and cooked to order. Michael and Christine are delightful and the house is extremely warm and comfortable - the term "bed & breakfast" does not do DP justice. Most highly recommended and I would definitely go back.

Welcoming, comfortable, well-equipped and v importantly: a really delicious breakfast. Super-fresh eggs provided by the happy hens in the garden were like nothing on Earth, if only I could have eaten more! Particularly impressed by the offer of a lift up to the local pub by Michael and back again by the landlord, which spared me the dark, slippery lanes on my motorbike. Really the most enjoyable stay made so by the care and attention of the hosts. Thank you so much.

I stayed at DP over Christmas as space with my family is very restricted.

I do not normally gush, but this B&B is truly exceptional. I have stayed in many Five-Star hotels on five continents and can honestly say the service at DP rivals any of them. Michael and Christine were friendly, generous and attentive. It's clear that they love running a B&B and it's so much more than a business to them. It felt by the end of my trip as if we were old friends!

The grounds and accommodation are truly beautiful. While the weather wasn't great, I bet it's a pleasure at warmer times of the year to just wander around the gardens. There is a day room for guests which was cosy with a log burner. I stayed in the plum room which maintained the country style feel of the property but has been tastefully decorated and furnished. The bathroom is small but beautiful and is all mod cons. Tea and coffee facilities are available in the room and Christine gave me a flask of milk each evening.

Breakfast was served at my convenience, was excellent and was almost entirely local or home-grown produce. Try the honey - it's made at DP and is delicious!

Overall, 5/5 doesn't begin to describe how satisfied I was with my stay. Perhaps more revealing is the fact that I've already booked for next Christmas and I imagine this could become a regular fixture! Congratulations to Michael and Christine.

A most enjoyable and relaxing stay, arriving late on Boxing Day to hot drinks and mince pies. The weather threatened to spoil our sight-seeing plans over the next couple of days but we were made to feel totally at home and could have spent our days in front of the log fire if we had wished to. The breakfasts were amazing and our hosts were very friendly and attentive. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and beautifully clean. Far enough off the beaten track to feel secluded, but good access within a few minutes to main routes. Highly recommended.

I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful stay this was - 4 nights of bliss. We are local to the area, actually living only 7 miles away, but needed to stay somewhere close whilst work was being completed in our home. What a find - we could not believe our good fortune. Christine and Michael were so welcoming, breakfasts were so good I could not wait for the following morning to arrive, Accommodation was first class - on a par and better than some 5* top class hotels and I have stayed in many over the years. The views of the Suffolk countryside are outstanding and would recommend to everyone - if you are thinking of a stay in Suffolk do not hesitate - the rating for this B&B is more than justified. Wonderful!!

Room Tip: All rooms fantastic with good views
