This was the best B & B I've ever used. I enjoyed every minute of it: the room; the breakfasts; the gardens; the hosts - every detail was covered. Every aspiring B & B owner should stay a couple of days and learn how to do it!

We can only re-iterate all the good comments already made. Michael and Christine really are at the top of their game. Their attention to detail and incredibly high standards put them among the top UK B&B providers

This was the first time I have ever booked accommodation purely on the strength of all the extraordinarily positive reviews listed on Trip Advisor. My verdict? Well, they may not actually do justice to the quality of the welcome, rooms, location, hosts, breakfasts, value and other facets of a stay at Drinkstone Park. Maybe Trip Advisor could consider a Six Star rating? Spectacular!

Room Tip: All four rooms are beautiful for different reasons.

Thank you Carole P for your kind words, they are much appreciated. Six stars! We were offered five at our last assessment but declined, as we enjoy the way things are with the guests we have here and have no wish to change. It is of course rather nice to hear that you feel we should be higher rated.
We do hope you will come and stay with us again if in the area.

We have B and B'd extensively throughout the UK in the last thirty years or so, and do not give compliments lightly - in fact we rarely contribute to Tripadvisor at all. But we felt that we had to make an exception here and it is almost disappointing to realise that the other reviews have said it already.
To be met with real coffee / tea and scones etc was brilliant ...... and it just went on and on and on from there. We were made really welcome throughout, and the garden is amazing. We had use of a really pleasant lounge if we needed to, but hardly necessary as the bedrooms (we booked late so were very happy to move to another for the last night of our three night stay) are so comfortable and so tasteful. The provision of a cafetiere and real coffee is virtually unheard of in our B & B experience ............... but completely unsurprising here (instant also available if you want it!)
And then the breakfasts - easily five * hotel standard.
We notice one "very good" in the over 250 reviews. Poor Michael and Christine - they must wonder what they did wrong on that occasion! They must be close to the top, if not the top, of any competition and the position would be well deserved. We have never made any particular point of going back again to the same bed and breakfast - we will definitely make an exception here. That is if we can get in!

Please don't be disappointed that other reviews have 'said it all before' to us each review is unique and meaningful and we much appreciate the time taken and though taken.
You mention the one 'very good' review, this was not what our guest actually said but was simply that there were some points they did not comment on therefore the review overall score came in lower as at that time TripAdvisor down scored on no comment made, assuming no comment meant negative - apparently!
It was a pleasure to meant you, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to seeing you again.

Having travelled on business for many years around the UK, it was a pleasure for me to find Drinkstone park B&B in a perfect location for my work just outside Bury St Edmunds. I stayed with Michael and Christine for a considerable time over the last 2 years and was welcomed like part of their family. Not only are Michael and Christine both some of the nicest and most welcoming people I have met but their house and wonderful gardens are something very special indeed and I would be very proud to live and work in such a beautiful and idyllic setting. It was very disappointing for me when my work finally took me away from the area as I grew to consider this my second home when staying away with work. If anyone is staying in this part of the world and need peace, tranquillity, a warm welcome and breakfast to die for look no further. An absolute pleasure, Thankyou so much for everything, I will not forget my time with you both.

It was a pleasure to have you here with us, over that time it was fairly obvious that your company would move you to a higher position and that of course often means relocation. I learnt a long time ago that things move on and people come into your life in one way or another and by the same token often move out of your circle, this is life and has to be accepted.
Many thanks for your kind review and if in the area again please come and stay at Drinkstone of course.

We have stayed at Drinkstone Park twice now and when we are next in that part of the country we wouldn't risk staying anywhere else. why would we? Michael and Christine are very welcoming and make you feel almost like old friends. All the extra touches are what makes this B&B extra special. For instance, bath robes, toiletries, loads of extra towels, DVD's and Wi Fi and chocolates on the pillows of the most comfortable bed! We had French doors onto the patio area and the lovely garden. The other great thing about Drinkstone Park are Christines's delicious breakfasts. We have never stayed in a B&B with such an extensive menu. Ob both occasions there was a 'special' on the menu. We totally recommend Drinkstone Park.

Hi Paul, I hope all is well for you, many thanks for taking the time to review us. We are pleased that you enjoy staying with us, I noticed you said 'almost like old friends' to see that gives us great pleasure as this is how we often feel when guests return to us. The gardens are looking good at the moment, we have been very busy with the National Garden Scheme open days which have been well received (and a learning curve for us).
We look forward to seeing you both again.
