5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013 via mobile

Ounce house is just lovely, from a warm welcome as soon as you step through the door to the moment you leave.
The owner is a wonderful lady and nothing is too much to ask. Although I didn't have breakfast, it looked delicious and the other patrons looked like they were thoroughly enjoying it.
Smarties on my pillow was a lovely touch after finishing a hard day of work in Bury!

We arrived a lot later than planned (nearly 11pm) due to traffic on the way down, however Mrs Potts greeted us warmly and showed us to our room. It was a large, comfortable room and very quiet even though it was close to Northgate Street. We had everything we needed and had a good night. Sleep was a little disrupted as mattresses were perhaps not as comfortable as our bed at home. The cooked breakfasts were excellent although I wish we had known that smoked salmon was available! Not sure I like being sat at the same large table as the other guests as would have preferred a table to ourselves. Mrs Potts and her daughter made us feel very welcome and we would certainly stay there again on our next visit.

This is a very nice family run hotel, very english! Rooms and bathrooms were starting to show there age, but at last a renovation is underway. Breakfast has always been a good experience, not as good as it was and it does feel a little like been at school.
Overall very handy for centre of bury but there are now better hotels.

Warm welcome, excellent room with all the home comforts including an excellent breakfast. Easy parking and walking distance from the centre and old town (try the One Bull Public House for dinner). Great to see hotels like this surviving. Highly recommend it.

What a lovely home to visit. A warm welcome, a most beautiful, spacious bedroom overlooking the pretty garden and lovely people. We were there only for a night and wish we had set aside more time. The beautiful centre of Bury is a very easy walk from Ounce House and there are plenty of good restaurants to choose from for dinner. The house is full of interesting pictures, books and family photographs and furniture and decor very much in keeping with the period of the house. The breakfast, served in the very comfortable dining room was delicious and happily informal. We will certainly go back both to Bury and Ounce House and highly recommend it to others.

It is a lovely family run B&B. The rooms are very well appointed, we had a comfortable evening and a fantastic home cooked breakfast the next day. It is a great location for Bury and the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere around the area.
