A brilliant place to take children to learn in a relaxed atmosphere.
The building it's self is full of history and very interesting
The clock room is fantastic if you can ever get the chance just to just sit and listen to the ticking of the clocks.

I live in the area and have walked past here many times and not noticed it, I am so glad I realised it was a museum and went in!
Its great for any history lover as it has a great collection of various displays and the building itself is great to see too. The war room was really interesting by following different Suffolk regiments through the wars, but did have a really annoying loud voice recording of a soldier going on in there which was distracting.
I don't want to spoil it by going into detail about everything that is there
Maybe because I was surprised by it I found it so good but for just £4 entrance you can't really go wrong so give it a try if your in the area.

This is a fascinating building filled with a huge array of items relating to the house and the town's long history. The hall has been used as a town house, a jail, police station, fire engine and museum. The artifacts relating to law and order included by far the most ghoulish exhibit I think I've ever seen - a gibbet. Enough to give you the shivers. Lots of local colour and a very good introductory video. Well worth the entry fee.

I love our town but this 'museum' really isn't very good.

The items on display seemed a little random, there was no flow. What artifacts were present weren't that interesting.

Its a shame the museum isn't solely focused on the history of the town. Bury St Edmunds has such a wonderful and rich history why waste space (which is limited) on things not directly relating to the town.

The museum is a wasted opportunity, when I went most of the space was taken up with clocks. Why would someone visiting bury give a damm about clocks?

Moyses's Hall is a must. It's a local museum for Bury St Edmunds, full of loads of local finds and heritage articles. The staff are very knowledgeable and more than happy to chat. It's not like any other museum I've visited. Somehow, it seems so personal and you feel like part of it rather than a visitor. £4 admission (£2 for children) is about as much as they could charge and sadly it's a sign of the times that the local council need to raise money wherever they can. Again, as with all of Bury St Edmunds, parking is a problem, but it does have a toilet, and those who know Bury will appreciate that's a big plus. Public toilets in Bury are very few and very far between.
