Went with friends to see one of the 4 copies of the Magna Carta. One of the volunteers told us about the history, then we saw the Document that first saw the light of day in 1215. Afterwards we toured the Cathedral and marvelled at the recent work by skilled stonesmiths. The old and new merge well. The ceiling can be viewed by mirror to save getting a stiff neck. Very light interior as many of the windows are plain glass. To sum up: Beautiful building located next to the lovely Abbey Gardens with no entrance fee. Suggest coffee and cakes afterwards at the Refectory at reasonable prices to round off a pleasant afternoon.
