We have been ordering our food from the Raj for years. The staff are always friendly over the phone, personable upon delivery and welcoming at the restaurant. When eating in the service has always been attentive and we've never had to wait beyond 40 minutes for delivery; it's often much sooner. As for the food, it's delicious, best in Bury, no argument.

The food is always good but delivery is always ridiculous. This is the second time this has happened.

Currently been waiting over two hours for my order (we're talking like 5 different curries plus all the trimmings). If you want to eat your good not just read about it and pay for it then don't go here.

As a couple visiting Bury for the first time this Easter weekend, fancied a curry and did a bit of online research. Having walked past the restaurant the day before and thought it looked a bit down at heel lets say, we decided to give it a go and glad we did.The place reminded me of an Indian resaurant from the nineties. The friendly service was excellent and the food was well prepared and tasty. Food warmers with T lights were used which kept the food warm a lot longer, also a proper hot towel for our hands, a nice touch which I haven't seen for a while. We told the waiter we had enjoyed our food and to our suprise we were given a shot of Baileys to finish off, lovely. The reviews for the other restaurants in town seemed to concentrate on the surroundings as the main priority rather than the food. Recommended.

This is easily the best Indian restaurant in town - in terms of food, service and value, but unfortunately it's no looker. We have been getting take-aways from here for years and have never been disappointed. The few times we have eaten in have been lovely because of the friendly staff and the fact that we had the place virtually to ourselves!
