Owner description: Award winning live music & entertainment venue in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. From classical to jazz, folk to pop/rock, comedy, family entertainment & more! The Apex also hosts a stunning art gallery with frequently changing exhibitions, plus a cafe!

We went to see the fabulous Portuguese Fado singer Ana Moura. The venue was only half-full and she had to struggle to create any atmosphere; however by the end the audience was on its feet and cheering!

As others have said this is an excellent venue with good acoustics and easy parking. It is however somewhat underused and has not yet managed to develop any sense of "personality". I understand that a recent proposal to share management with the Theatre Royal has (in my opinion fortunately) fallen through; however I believe that the two venues do intend to share marketing and ticketing.

Perhaps the read problem is that Bury St. Edmunds, although a lovely town, is not regarded by promoters as "being on the way to anywhere". The venue is also somewhat small to make gigs profitable: bigger events tend to take place at the Ipswich Regent. At present the Apex seems to be a hall in search of a meaning.

The hall was a bit chilly to start with and the seats, though wide and comfortable, have hard wooden armrests! There is however plenty of legroom.

We visited the Apex to see Judie Tzuke, dragging two teenagers with us.... It was a great night, the acoustics were amazing, the seats good and we ALL had a great time. The venue is intimate and showcases voices beautifully, there is a real sense of relationship between performer and audience and the show passed far too quickly.
The facilities were high quality and there was little queuing at the bar.
I totally recommend a visit if you enjoy music and a connection with the performance.

The Apex is a good concert hall with great acoustics. The downside is that it is rather small so it does not attract big names. So if you want a small intimate venue I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

Lovely inside far bigger than I would have imagined, Bury is lucky to have it. Lots of interesting performances being put on or you can just pop in to the coffee shop and have a look around

A group of us visited the Comedy Club in January. The tickets were only £10 each so we were not expecting too much for our money. We got to the Apex which is a lovely venue. We were not given specific seats but still had very good seats a couple of rows from the front. There were two comedy acts and a compere. All of which were brilliant! There was a great atmosphere in the room. It was an excellent night and well worth the money! I would recommend this to anyone.
