Our guide, Steven, concentrated on explaining how important Bury St. Edmunds has been since medieval times, giving numerous fascinating examples. His style of delivery and depth of knowledge is brilliant. We started in the abbey ruins and went into the town centre and heard about a large range topics, covering bits of history over the last millennium. Our were kept absorbed for an hour and a half and most of us continued to ask questions over a free drink in a local pub. These town walks take place quite often with a number of excellent guides and are the most marvellous value.
