We arrived at about 10am and there was absolutely no where to park. We ended up parking on a grass verge near the entrance gate. We were greeted straight away when we got in but we had never been before and it seemed like we were just left sitting with a load of forms to fill in. I went to the desk after about ten minutes and we were given a tour of the facilities. We then went into the changing room where we had towels and dressing gowns waiting in our locker. The changing rooms majorly need a makeover. I wouldn't even say they were clean. For the first part of an expensive spa day I was very disappointed. We went through to the pool area which was nice but nothing special. There is a sauna, steam room, small jacuzzi and a pool which was absolutely freezing. The beds around the outside of the pool were really uncomfortable, could do with some padding on them! At 12am we went for our treatments. You go into the reception area and they ask you to wait in the conservatory. Therapists then come in with their clipboards and call your name. I can see this works well for them but just doesn't create a relaxed atmosphere. We had our treatments (back massage and facial) in a double treatment room and they were both lovely. However the floor/walls are really thin and throughout most of the treatment all we could hear were people walking around upstairs on a VERY creaky floor. We went through for our lunch at 2. The food and service were amazing. The drinks weren't badly priced either. We had a nice seat near the window and enjoyed a fab meal. Overall I did enjoy the day but I wouldn't go back. It cost £130 for two of us at half price, great value for money considering the treatments and meal but it's lacking luxury. I certainly wouldn't have paid £260 for it.
