Beer is ace but the place doesn't know whether it's a pub or a pet shop! Every time we come here it fills with dog owners. 8pm 10.7.14 there are five dogs in here smelling and growling at each other. Got sniffed and snarled at twice walking in and constant barking or whining. What a joke. Come to the pub for beer and snacks so this is hardly hygienic. Greene King need to sort this out to bring in anything other than dog living locals.

I visited this little pub with friends recently.
A lovely friendly pub.
A drinkers pub, they sell ale not larger.
No children, no jute box, no amusements.
Just somewhere where a group of friends can go out for a drink together and talk to each other.

Can you remember traditional pubs? Run by a traditional landlord serving traditional ale, no food but bar snacks and no lager? Good prices, good conversation and feeling comfortable in one's surroundings? Its here!!
This is the jewel in the crown as far as pubs are concerned, where local and visitors are made very welcome to visit.
A far cry from The Dove of 5 years ago, quite the polar opposite in fact.
With numerous CaMRA awards to date, all the beer comes from craft brewers in the vicinity and at the time of this review no ales are over £3.00. Try before you buy - the enthusiasm of bar staff comes across vividly.
Not to be missed!!

I've been to this lovely Pub each time I've stayed with my Daughter in Laws family. It's always busy, loads of atmosphere and the selection of real ale beers is amazing. The Landlord is friendly, his staff are great and although it has no modern comforts, its a cosy, family friendly little place. Would recommend it to anyone visiting bury St. Edmunds.

The building, interior, location, clientele, landlord and most of all the Beer. Choice is always good with a minimum of 6 real ales rotated daily. Roger always serves a great beer, no lager sold! so we are all of a like mind. I dislike having to go home!
