We stayed here during the first week of January when visiting family, and had a lovely weekend.
The cottage itself is beautifully decorated, cosy and extremely welcoming - Each room felt fresh and clean. The underfloor heating was a huge hit with us too :) this cottage is the perfect size for a getaway for two
An enclosed garden to the rear which is also very nicely presented - A good size to enjoy some sunshine in warmer months.
The bedroom again is beautifully decorated and has plenty of storage for clothes. The bed is enormous and very comfortable which is hard to find for two tall people!
In the kitchen, a collection of information about local places to visit/eat which is a nice touch and we found incredibly helpful. Memsab Indian went down a treat on our first night (tired from travel we fancied a cosy night in with a take away) on our second day we visited Number 10... twice! A lovely roast in the day and homemade pizzas in the evening.
Perfect weekend - Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!
Thanks again Helen & Edmund for a lovely stay x
From the second you step through the door, you'll know you've made the right choice with this cosy but well-furnished cottage. From the underfloor heating to the sunny enclosed garden, it's a real home away from home.
Whether you're just after a relaxing weekend or a full week's exploring - the bustling village of Lavenham has all the small cafe's and shops you could possibly need - I certainly recommend popping into Cheese and Chives for their ultra-cheesy lasagne or a delicious cream tea. What's more, the ancient market town of Bury St Edmunds is only a short drive away, or the seaside towns of Frinton and Clacton if you fancy some sea air!
The hostess couldn't have been more welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. I will certainly be staying again in 2018!
We were so pleased to find this wonderful cottage in 2016 and stayed there again in 2017. We had stayed for 15 years at a B&B in Lavenham but they ceased trading and we were bereft.... but lo and behold we found Staddles and it has been a lovely place to spend our annual few days in Lavenham....we love the village and the surrounding area...both Suffolk and Norfolk are very relaxing and interesting. Staddles itself is full of character....quaint and quirky...very well equipped...very friendly owner who goes out of her way to help you enjoy your stay there in her little gem of a house.
Can thoroughly recommend it.
A lovely comfortable and well equipped cottage situated in the historic village of Lavenham. A delicious welcome pack was provided on arrival which set us up for our short break visiting family in the area. I have no hesitation in recommending this property and hope to return again in the very near future.
We spent a few days in Lavenham and one of the highlights of our stay was the cottage itself: delightfully quirky, beams galore, creaky floors a superbly appointed kitchen extension - in all, a wonderful place to stay for two. Handily situated (not quite in the village centre, but don't worry - it's a very compact place) for all the amenities. Highly recommended.
