“Beautiful building with interesting history”
Reviewed 4 November 2011

Lovely National Trust ( free to members) building with interesting displays of local history and the story of the Guildhall. It's been a prison, workhouse, alms house, woolstore and nursery school.
Display about the local woman who wrote 'Twinkle Twinkle little star.' Good cafe too!

“An insight into the history of the town”
Reviewed 3 November 2011

Lovely building to visit with lots of information to browse on the history of the town. Dont miss the explanations of how the wool industry worked in the town - you can find the plants that were used for dying the wool in the garden at the back.

“Lovely”
Reviewed 1 August 2011

Lovely little museum with detailed info about the history of the wool trade. Doesn't take long to get around if quiet, maybe an hour/hour and half if you read and take in everything. Adore the buidling and Tudor beams inside. A sweet little medieval town with alot of original buildings/features/houses.

“Fascinating building and historic insight of Lavenham”
Reviewed 28 April 2011

A remarkable National Trust property located in the Market square at Lavenham. Museum tells in detail the historic background of the wool trade which made the town one if the richest in the country at it's peak. Amazing timber framed architecture with references to other local buildings of note. Well worth a visit.
