“A wonderful stay at Stone Farm”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2013

Just returned from a lovely 2 night stay at Stone Farm. Accomodation is very stylish, had everything we needed and more! Loved the Sloe Gin and oat biscuits. Amazing vista from the bedroom looking across the countryside towards Lavenham. We could've sat there all weekend watching the birds, rabbits, pheasant and foxes. Janey and John were great hosts. We were lucky enough to be in Lavenham for the open gardens and saw the impressive gardens of the equally impressive houses. We would highly recommend Stone Farm and we hope to go back soon.

Yet again the wildlife at Stone Farm is featuring in our review - just the way we would want it!
Really glad you enjoyed your time with us, and the village of Lavenham. Hidden Gardens is a yearly event - hope to see you both back on the 8th June 2014 !

Stayed at Stone Farm for one night. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome by Janey and John. Nothing was too much trouble including booking a restaurant for us plus taxi. The room was wonderfully comfortable and stylish with a gorgeous en-suite. A lovely bonus is the wonderful view and watching the entertaining wildlife whilst chilling in your room. The decor and toiletries were certainly of a boutique b&b standard which is how they describe themselves on their business card. Thank you for the homemade biscuits and sloe gin which were all gratefully received! Would highly recommend and we look forward to returning, although hopefully the weather might be a little warmer next time !!

So glad you enjoyed your stay in Lavenham, we think its a very special place.

And you will be glad to know we are just bottling up the 2012 Stone Farm Sloe Gin - a very special vintage due to the lack of sloes last year. Come back and try it!

At Stone Farm I felt I'd escaped it all, despite Lavenham being just up the road.  Nestled into the hill, you feel surrounded by nature, (we enjoyed watching the pheasants and wild birds from our bed on Sunday morning).

The bedroom is a great size and just beautifully furnished.  The wall of glass brings the outside in whilst keeping you nice and cosy (we were surrounded by snow on our visit).  The wooden decking had chairs and a table and I already have visions of returning when it's a bit warmer and enjoying a bottle of wine whilst watching the sunset over the church.

The room had everything we could have wanted including a diffuser fixture for the hair dryer (top points!) and an iPod docking station.  I know his and her sinks do it for some people, but I could have spent hours in that shower!

Janey and John deserve a special mention for being fabulous hosts.  They were very accommodating of our dietary requirements, going as far as to get in dairy free spread, and almond milk for breakfast as well as baking some (delicious) dairy free biscuits.  - later the next day I discovered a secret stash of these that my other half had taken away with him as they were so good!  We also were treated to the Sloe gin mentioned in previous reviews.

Stone farm is not your average B&B, we loved it and hope to return soon.

Thank you so much for your attention to detail in describing what we offer at Stone Farm. I may well employ you to write the copy for our website in future!
It was always our aim to create somewhere that was a bit special, and different from the traditional B and B, taking care of our guests every need.
And thats what we'll continue to do.

My husband and I like finding new and interesting places to visit in the UK. I had wanted to visit Lavenham for a while so thought a little break in January would be great ! - I found Stone Farm on the internet and after reading the reviews on here decided to book. The weather had not been great all week but Janey and I decided it would be ok to come - so glad we did, what a fantastic house, and very clever having the boutique b & b below the main house - so quiet and peaceful. Janey and John were the perfect hosts, felt very at home. Wonderful breakfast, being entertained by Nellie collecting her stones. We will definitely return in the summer and maybe stay longer. Totally recommend Stone Farm for that perfect relaxing break.

15 cms of snow on the ground certainly tested us as B and B owners!

Thank you so much for braving the extreme weather to visit us, it just proves that Stone Farm Boutique B and B is a great place to stay all year round. Hopefully you will be able to stay for longer next time and be able to enjoy in the beautiful village of Lavenham on a warm summer's day!

My partner and I were looking for a place to relax and unwind for a weekend before the birth of our first child, and boy did we find it in Stone Farm!
From the moment we first arrived Janey and John made us feel utterly relaxed and welcome. Although they have only been offering B&B since August 2012 you would never know it as they have thought of absolutely everything.
You have the ground floor of their amazing house all to yourselves which consists of a spacious, incredibly tastefully decorated en-suite bedroom and a fully-equipped kitchen. The view from the bedroom's french windows is to die for and if you like watching wildlife you'll love it. We saw all manor of birds feeding just outside and it felt like the countryside had joined us inside!
It's the little touches that make Stone Farm extra special though. From the home-made flapjack and sloe gin on offer to a cold beer in the fridge for you to enjoy. We were lucky enough to arrive in the home-made mince pie season; they were absolutely delicious!
And I haven't even mentioned the sumptuous, locally sourced full English breakfasts on offer. Come with an empty belly to make the most of them!
And then there's Nelly the resident stone-loving, truffle-hunting pooch. She makes you just as welcome as Janey and John do.
To sum it all up, the only way our stay could have been any more perfect would have been to stay another night :)
If you have one weekend away anywhere in 2013, go to Stone Farm. Go on, treat yourselves to a wonderful experience!

Thank you for taking the time to write such a fab review, and posting some great photos of our homemade treats .
We hoped that Stone Farm would be the perfect place to relax and unwind, if only for a few days, and it looks like our guests agree. Being wildlife friendly is also important to us, and we're glad you enjoyed the antics of our resident birds - and Nellie!
Hope to see you again soon .

It's quite hard to find the right words to describe staying at Stone Farm. What the exceptionally friendly Janey & John have created is almost one of a kind, certainly in the UK.

Whatever the phrase "B&B" conjures to mind forget it. Stay at Stone Farm and you get your own slice of Grand Design-style, the best of hosts with perfectly-judged service and lots of warm and welcoming touches.

* Homemade Hob nobs & Floor-to-Ceiling picture windows
* a Private Kitchen & Breakfasts cooked to order
* Medieval Lavenham on your doorstep & His and Hers basins in the Ensuite

But however incomparable the location and the facilities are (and they are) it is actually the friendliness and unflappable above and beyond the call of duty service which singles out this great find.

Please check with me before you book though, as I want first dibs...

Room Tip: The one room available is superb. If staying though make sure you find time to visit the Angel Bar...
