Fantastic hotel in a beautiful setting and great place to get away from it all. Our room was spacious and warm with a large en-suite and overlooked the grounds to the rear of the house. The building itself is worth a wander around, lots of oak panelling, period furniture, creaky floors and rooms for afternoon tea. Staff were excellent and our evening meal and breakfast in the main restaurant were very good. The bar is cosy and is a great place for a pre or post-dinner drink. There is an outside patio area with tables and chairs, umbrellas and heater for when it's chilly. We used the pool at the leisure club and, again, facilities were excellent. A real treat!

This is a truly wonderful hotel. We stayed here on a two night break and had such a relaxing time. The hotel is amazing and has lovely little places to tuck yourself away. The grounds are lovely and although not massive we spent a long time wandering around them. The swimming pool was perfect and we had it to ourselves for most of the time we were in it. Dinner was so good and the flavours we experienced were out of this world. Breakfast was just as good and the local sausages were lovely. Can't wait to stay here again.

My wife and I have just returned from a two night break at Seckford Hall and would recommend it to anyone seeking a cosy, "away from it all" location. The staff were most helpful - and cheerful - the building is a Tudor Hall with the expected beams inglenooks creaking floors etc and country views from every window. Our room, despite central heating, was a little chilly (It was some of the coldest weather of the winter) but within minutes of telling reception a gentleman arrived with a supplementary heater that quickly warmed us up!

The restaurant is a delight and we had lovely fare on both evenings, again served by helpful and attentive staff.

What more can I say - try the hotel!

Seckford Hall is a very special experience, it's not just an overnight stop. The history of the place is palpable the moment you enter the impressive gateway. I hadn't stayed here for years, I'd stayed here on business years ago, but it was my husband's first time and he was enormously impressed with the beautiful frontage, the ancient panelled sitting room, and the rickety staircase. We stayed in a room at the front of the building for a very reasonable late rooms price. It was a large room with a large bathroom, comfortable bed and although not modern fittings, was clean and practical as well as being in keeping with the surroundings. The mulllioned windows overlooking the side lawn and front of the hotel were the piece de resistance. I'm sure if you had a room at the back of the hotel, this would be even better as the 'back garden' is even more special. I fully recommend staying here and only wish we'd stayed longer than one night. The evening menu looked particularly appetising and I'd heard good reviews. We'll definitely return for longer.

We had lunch at Seckford Hall today and it was perfect!! A beautiful estate hundreds of years old - you can feel the nostalgia as soon as you drive in towards the beautiful house. We started with a drink in the cosy bar area. The very nice Maitre de left the menu's with us. Then he came and took our orders. Shortly after he led us to our table in the dining area. The dining area is very "olde worlde" and you can feel the years of history there. We marvelled at the decor with its beautiful wooden panels and antique furniture which created a wonderful atmosphere. We went with the 3 course menu which was £15.95 per head. I started with the Pork Pate which was divine and there was plenty of bread etc available - which was great as usually when I have had pate elsewhere there is not enough bread to finish it all off!! Then followed the Venison which was done is this lovely rich sauce on potato mash - to die for!! To finish the Chocolate Brownie - yummo!! All served with a smile! We completed our lunch with coffees and home made chocolates in the Lounge area. We could just sit there for hours chatting away and checking out the decor, wondering how many generations had experienced the same as we were. Seckford Hall is absolutely lovely and I would recommend a lunch (or dinner) there - it would also be a perfect venue for weddings we thought - with the lovely grounds, beautiful garden area and pond outside, weather permitting!! You won't be disappointed!

I have had the pleasure of staying at The Seckford Hall Hotel twice. If I could re-run my life all over again - this is where I would press the pause button and take a breather from all the hustle-and-bustle of everyday life - a truly wonderful experience will be had by staying or dining here...We have taken or American friends and South African relatives - all have been very impressed with the surroundings, hotel and amazing food.Oh!, and did I mention our French friends? Well, you know how difficult they are to please? - They were really gob-smacked (real Cockney saying - meaning impressed to the nth degree!)

Room Tip: If you are tall - then mind the low doors...If you like a powerful shower then choose a room not on...
