Went in and ordered what I usually order elsewhere Chicken Tikka Balti with garlic fieid rice and garlic naan bread. Balti was full of grease with no taste and chicken looked undercooked. I complained to the waiter which he called the manager over and he said the balti is cooked properly and it is normal to have so much grease/oil. I come from local to the Balti Triangle in Birmingham and this is not how a curry should be. I have never been anywhere where the quality of food, service and attitude is so bad, and to top it all I was seriously ill for 2 days following this food with severe stomach cramps and all that goes with it, truly felt like I had food poisoning. Would definitely avoid this place.

Just back from an evening meal at the Shapla with my girlfriend. The service was poor; waited more than twenty minutes to receive our ordered food as priority attention was given to the take-away trade. Then when food arrived it was lukewarm. Were given table near door which meant with the constant comings and goings of people ordering and collecting take aways, we were met with regular gusts of cold air from the door.

The lukewarm food was padded out with onions and peppers and whilst the sauces were mediocre, the stuffed vegetable naan proved to be the only highlight.

Dessert was a rock solid frozen mass produced ice cream affair that at £3.75 seemed highly overpriced!

Will definitely not be returning.

We had a good Indian meal on Saturday night; the Silsila chicken dish was particularly delicious with a nice fish and potato curry and good vegetable dishes too. Service is friendly, attentive and not rushed.

Shapla is quite small so you will need to book on busy nights. The only downside is that it does a healthy take away trade and so can be a bit cramped and noisy when people appear to pick up.

A super Indian restaurant from a food, location and service standpoint.

Be aware that it gets very busy on Friday an Saturday evenings and a take out order may take as long as 1 hour, they offer delivery service within Woodbridge but not to many of the outlying villages.

Give it a try.
