Denbies from the road looks extremely inviting. Beautiful vineyard set in the Surrey Hills looks stunning through all seasons. If you are thinking of stopping for tea forget it. I met with friends for an after Christmas catch up quite looking forward to tea at Denbies. What a disappointment. You walk through the shop to get to the downstairs restaurant/tea shop. It lacked any charm and just reminded me of a large canteen.
Cream tea for two consists of two scones, one very small pot of jam and one small tub of clotted cream and a pot of tea no fresh jug of milk just cartons (this is between two) all for the pricely sum of £7.50. What a total rip off. I complain to the staff that for the cost you can't even supply a fresh jug of milk. Staff completely not interested.
In my advice look at the beautiful scenery as you drive pass. Head out to Gomshall and try Tillings what a difference plenty of parking, great service, fab food, honest pricing and buckets of charm.
