“Blissful Blackbrook House”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2014

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Blackbrook House. The room was delightful and peaceful and the bathroom luxurious. Very comfy bed and everything, and I mean everything, was spotlessly clean. It was such a relief to stay somewhere that had a peaceful, relaxed, yet traditional vibe, after all the hotel chains we've stayed in. We really enjoyed exploring this part of Surrey - there are some great walks, pubs and a National Trust property to visit. Thank you to host Emma, for creating such a wonderful place to stay. We hope that you will have availability on our next visit to Surrey.

I had the good fortune to stay in the small room at Blackbrook House. What a delightful place and superb host. Emma served tea and cake on arrival, recommended a great gastropub for supper and produced an excellent breakfast the following morning. The bed was comfortable, the room quiet and spotlessly clean. Can thoroughly recommend and I shall be back given the opportunity

We spent 4 nights at Blackbrook House in July and found it a very comfortable and convenient base for touring south of London. The house sits in a wonderful garden a little way off the main road and is quiet and peaceful, yet within easy access of Dorking and the surrounding counties.

Emma was a very gracious host and her welcoming afternoon tea and the sumptuous breakfasts were first rate. The room (Jane Austin Suite) had a very large bathroom and a sitting room across the corridor we could use as needed.

We found Dorking to be a good base with good restaurants (try the Two to Four in West Street Dorking) and many antique shops. For trips to London we parked at the station and got the train to the city (about 1 hour). The surrounding countryside is pleasant and there are a number of National Trust properties within easy access.

We needed to contact a doctor while staying there and Emma was extremely helpful in making arrangements. This was just typical of the very helpful and warm hospitality we enjoyed.

We would certainly recommend a stay at Blackbrook House.

We stayed here for one night as my daughter had her school induction day and we were not disappointed . Emma greeted us at the door and escorted us to a beautiful room in a lovely setting. She booked us a table for dinner only 10 mins away and offered us a large selection for breakfast the next morning. Our room was lovely with a fantastic view of the garden. We had fresh milk and lots of yummy shortbread biscuits ! Large bathroom with bath and separate shower . Even chocolate on the side table . Nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast was lovely the next morning with a wide variety to choose from . Would definitely stay again!!

Room Tip: Try the Jane Austin suite .

We had a delightful stay at Blackbrook House near to Dorking last week. Emma is a gracious hostess and made us feel welcome and at home. She recommended a special pub for dinner around the corner and make us the most 'scrumlicious and delumptious' breakfasts on our three mornings in her beautiful home. We loved walking in her lovely large garden and had a great walk along the nearby public footpath in the countryside. Blackbrook House was a wonderful place to readjust our heads from USA time to SA time. Thank you for spoiling us Emma!

This beautiful home is located in beautiful english countryside and is a real slice of heaven. The house is furnished very well and the bedroom was very comfortable. Emma looked after me very well and the tea and cake on arrival followed by a marvellous fresh breakfast was much appreciated. Thanks for a wonderful stay and back soon I am sure.

We arrived to a warm welcome, fab cake and a coffee in the lovely farmhouse kitchen, by Emma, who made us feel very welcome and at ease and gave us useful information about local attractions and eateries. The room we had was sumptious, spotless, comfortable and calming, with a lovely bathroom, and small comfortable private sitting room. This was a real bonus to have our own space. The hospitality tray with Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate and scrummy biccy's was just what we needed after a long trip. The house itself is Elegant and beautifully presented, with extremely high standards of decoration and cleanlinesss. The Breakfast was first class, try the Smoked salmon and scrambled egg croissant ! After a leisurely breakfast we had a stroll in the spendid gardens accompanied by the lovely black lab Pomme and characterful collie Sam, with Tennis Court and private seating area's the ambience of this residence was chaming and will ensure our return.
