Description: A beautiful 16th Century Inn which is full of charm and age. Refurbished in late 2016 the Punch bowl now offers open fires, food all day every day, relaxed drinking and a stunning function room and restaurant. With plenty of parking and opposite a cricket green a perfect place to wallow away those sunny days. The winter it gets even better with roaring fires and a warm decor. We are pleased that the Punch Bowl that is under our wing as it is a truly great example of a stunning British pub. Open from 12 noon every day.

This is a delightful pub serving Badger beers and good quality pub food. At lunchtime today the Special was Corned Beef Hash and it was delicious. It gives me a lot of confidence in a chef's ability if he can cook plain food well. On reflection it was possibly the tastiest corned beef hash i've tasted in my long life.
We shall return whenever we're in the area.

We used the function room at The Punchbowl Inn for my father's 90th birthday celebration. Philip the landlord and his wife were fantastic and provided a very nice spread which was enjoyed by all. They went out of their way to make the afternoon run smoothly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely , off the beaten track little pub. Oh and Hector the German Shepherd popped in to make sure everything was going to plan.

We went to the Punchbowl for a birthday lunch with a small group of friends. the pub was averagely busy and the atmosphere in the traditional old Sussex hostelry was friendly and welcoming. Cobwebbed with old beams and uneven floors it had a great sense of history, and although the day did not invite sitting in the garden, it nonetheless had a lots of benches in an attractive lawned and fenced area at the front of the pub, with ample parking at the back. The menu was more than inviting with lots of non pretentious choices for everyone. The waitress, who was also the barmaid took our order and the food arrived promptly and was delicious. The puddings were great, full of calories and all that great puddings should be! The food represented great value for money and we would definitely go there again. On the only downside - the barmaid/waitress was pretty overstretched as she seemed to be the only one doing the whole restaurant and the bar - and to her credit she did admirably. She even said how sorry she was when we paid the bill if she had been a bit slow at times - frankly I thought she was great - and she smiled and was pleasant throughout! So, be patient if she's on her own - the food is worth it! Management - if you read this - more staff?? Anyway - a good lunch and excellent value for money!

Historic country pub in the Surrey Hills. It's off the beaten track but worth a detour!

Lovely rural location, historic building, decent food & drink and warm service from the landlady and staff.

This pub is off the beaten track but well worth the effort to find it. It's like stepping back in time as you enter this olde worlde inn with an open fire, traditional décor and a greeting from the resident Alsatian. Staff were welcoming and we had a lovely roast dinner accompanied by a few pints of Badger ale. The service was good and prices quite reasonable. In a time when many of these old-fashioned establishments are disappearing, it was lovely to experience a traditional Sunday lunch in a traditional country pub. Only minor criticism was that the modern background pop music seemed a bit out of step with a traditional pub. We will be visiting again very soon.
