“Huge disappointment”

The good thing about the cafe is that the food arrived quickly. The bad things - everything was tasteless and had no flavour. In a chicken, bacon and mayonnaise sandwich the only flavour was in the bread. A Brie and bacon panini was likewise lacking in any flavour of bacon or
Brie. I have no idea where the materials are sourced, but something needs to be done. Also rather expensive. Our first visit will be our last.

We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your visit to our cafe, but also somewhat surprised by your comments. All of our food is of a very high quality, all purchased as fresh raw ingredients and cooked on site. Our panini and sandwiches are all deep filled, only prepared to order and we receive many compliments on a daily basis on how good they are. We believe we offer very good value for money. Please try us again, at our expense, and we would welcome any direct feedback. Debra & Kevin, proprietor.

Always a favourite place of ours when we go to Guildford. Nothing spectacular, but a great fruit scone and pot of tea. Other menu offerings look good, it's just that we can't get past the scone

Great place to meet friends for lunch or a stop point whilst shopping in Guildford. Great for all ages and for families with babies and toddlers.
Varied menu, reasonably priced. Lots of helpful, friendly staff.

We were in Guildford to visit the theatre and a couple of local landmarks. A sunny but cool March day and with additional time before curtain up, we were looking for a coffee stop in a warm environment. We stumbled upon The Continental Cafe in the Atrium area of Tunsgate Square and could not have made a better choice. Sitting under the glass roof was a pleasure and the coffee and tea very good quality. The cafe was busy but the staff were coping cheerfully and efficiently. We will certainly call again and next time try something from the interesting menu.

Our visits to Guildford are enhanced by our visits to this cafe in Tunsgate. It is always efficient service (servery style for drinks and snacks, waiter/tress service for cooked meals ). For speed, efficiency and atmosphere, it cannot be beaten. Not a chain, not "designer chef", but simple, well cooked food, as healthy as you want to choose (or as indulgent). The staff are pleasant, fast and hard working. Tunsgate itself is bright, relaxing and pleasant, maybe even "vibrant"!
