G Live is Guildford's brand new Concert Hall. It has excellent sight lines from all parts of the auditorium so audience members need not feel that they will not see the stage. The building is light, spacious and modern and has an excellent restaurant and snack/coffee bar that you can visit while on a shopping trip into Guildford, or simply because it's a pleasant place to meet up with friends : there is also a drinks bar for interval drinks that can be ordered in advance. The theatre runs a huge range of events, from comedy to drama to opera and ballet, classical music of all types - choral and instrumental and performances for children, too. The Education Department runs workshops and events for children and adults. As an audience member and a performer, I can thoroughly recommend this venue.

By any standards this was a pretty unimpressive show. Billed as dancing but all the way through it was band, singing and more band.
We expected t least a troupe of dancers as backing when there was dancing but four people did not hack it.
G Live is a very big venue and it was pretty full, however it did not have aircon and the heat was oppressive and did not make for comfort. The furniture is in good state and it was nice and clean however if you wanted a drink or something to eat the wait was very long.
The show was very pricey even more so for us as we left at the interval. Not a place we will be returning to anytime soon.
Parking is terrible it needs to be three times bigger people driving in then out again as it was full
at 1330hrs for a 1500hrs show. It might have been this show that has put us off this theater I do not know but it will never be able to compete with a good old West End theater for ambiance and comfort.

We were really excited when G-Live opened as the long awaited successor to the old Civic. It's certainly better than the Civic, but doesn't really live up to my expectation, although I can't really put my finger on why. And it's quite pricey. Many of the same shows also call at the Anvil in Basingstoke. That's a much nicer theatre and generally cheaper

We went to see The Hollies, found the seating to be spacious and comfortable. plenty of toilets,so no queing! Very modern theatre, wonderful acoustics, this was our first visit. Good parking area although we did have to drive around a bit at first. As usual any confectionary bought were pricey, as it usually is in theatres. Would certainly go again

Very impressed with G Live. Been there recently to see "Some like it Hip Hop". Excellent facilities. Liked the bar, the theater itself, nice seats, nice loos, lots of parking, fresh and new. Already booked tickets again for January for the Curry and Comedy night and in March for the Moscow City Ballet. I'd say the venue is better than many in London and it's great to have this close to home so you avoid the train ride to and from London for shows. Brill!
