Comfortable room. Service good. Food ok - plenty of other nice eateries in Guildford. I would use this hotel again if visiting Guildford. There is a car park for guests at the front of the hotel - free parking but on a first come first served basis and the number of spaces are limited. It always seemed packed to me. However, there is an alternative. For a charge (& if there's availability) you can pre book parking with the hotel that guarantees a space. I did this and it was well worthwhile. As you pull into the hotel, proceed through to the barrier (at the side of the hotel and in front of you). From here you buzz reception who lift the barrier and you enter a more secure car park at the back of the building

Myself and 2 girlfriends stayed here May bank holiday weekend and couldn't fault it? The hotel was fully booked and there was also a wedding party staying at the same time but we still managed to get 2 free parking spaces on the front of the hotel. Girls on reception very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a triple room (115) and it wasn't the biggest room we've ever stayed in but it was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed including tea & coffee making facilities which was very welcome after a long journey on motorway! We had a few drinks in the hotel bar before hitting Guildford town centre (x3 alcoholic drinks £15 so not cheapest but to be expected for the area) hotel is very centrally located and town centre only few minutes walk lots of choice for places to eat and drink. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful with a wonderful selection of fresh fruit, yogurts, continental choices and full cooked options - great choice of fresh bread (even had my favourite granary!) and real butter! Just what we needed after a night on the town! Fab hotel - would deffo book again and recommend to others

had room 7 for two nights may 2014 - the absolute smallest room i've ever seen in my life! could reach up to the ceiling and almost reach from side to side in the room! that said, the staff was very nice. no gym and a hike to the SPECTRUM CENTER which was very nice, if expensive (15 USD for a workout session) - in all, nice looking and nice people but very very small rooms!

Staff are always polite and friendly. Rooms excellent. Breakfast brilliant. I stay here regularly and always made to feel welcome. Staff can't do anymore to make stay enjoyable. Feels like a home from home. Looming forward to my next stay.

Booked and payed online 5 months or so in advance.
Close to sons wedding venue so was ideal place to stay.
Inquired about parking and was assured that it was no problem.
Also recommended this place to 14 other members of family who also booked.
On the day, yes you guessed I had to park in council car park over the road for the day and night at a cost. So be careful. I was assured that I didn't have to pre book car park. Not something advised from reception staff.
Room was small and I mean really small and stuffy. Thank goodness it was only the one night. Was told by reception staff " What do you expect from a city hotel"
We paid the extra for breakfast which was plentiful and of good quality. Customer service was very good and friendly.
Maybe the staff running the breakfast can give the reception staff some customer service training.

Would not recommend . Will not ever go there again.

We stayed here for one night for an event at G-Live opposite. We booked a double room, the first room we where shown had a shower unit, but they changed our room so we could have a bath. The reception staff where very friendly and attentive.

There was a wedding at the hotel and our room at front of hotel, was very noisy with people in the outside bar area.

The rooms where clean except the wooden blinds that look like they hadn't seen a duster in a long time. The television was on the dressing table over the part where you would normally sit, and the mirror above the drawers, which was annoying and a little odd.

The hotel prices on the hotels website vary daily and seem to follow booking.com, I booked the hotel a few weeks after friends and was half the price they paid, so got a good deal.

There is parking at hotel which you can priority book, if not there is parking opposite which cost roughly the same. If you have not booked priority parking there are no spaces to park whilst you check in which is inconvenient if you have lots of luggage.

We stayed here just for one night, and the stay was alright, but there is definitely room for improvement.
First the good: the room was very nice and clean, absolutely nothing to worry about there! Quiet and cozy, lovely rain showerhead, tea and coffee, etc. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well! The reception team was very friendly and helpful - from check in to check out. Overall, it was a nice stay, and especially if you are just there for a short city trip, it's a good place to stay! It is very close to the highstreet for shopping, restaurants and for seeing Guildford too.

Now to the opportunities (stating these mainly for the Hotel's benefit):
After a day of travelling and walking all over guildford in the pouring rain, we were exhausted so just wanted to order room Service. After being told by the receptionist to call room Service instead, and after failing to reach room Service directly and re-contacting reception, who attempted to reach someone from room Service....finally after 5 minutes of back and forth we ordered 2 simple sandwiches. The first came after about 45 min...(already a long time for a sandwich), and we were told the second one would just be a moment. That Moment turned into 20 minutes, so I called to ask ...after which they apologized and the sandwich arrived shortly. They thankfully gave us the second sandwich for free, but still seemed quite unorganized.
The next morning, we went to breakfast and were the first and only people there the whole time. The choices on the buffet were quite slim, but it was alright. The toaster grill was set far too high causing the first toasts to come out close to charcoal. This should be checked by the staff before opening up for breakfast. Hot items were to be ordered separately, so when we ordered scrammbled eggs, I heard the cook, who was standing and watching us at the open service window close by, let out quite a loud and annoyed sigh...not very welcoming! There were 2 waitresses walking around and talking to eachother, however the used plates and bowls were piling up on our table. We are usually not very picky, but seeing as there was literally no other guests, the staff was just not very attentive.

So all in all - room and location were great, day reception staff too, but evening reception staff and the f&b outlets seem to need some more work.
