Quiet location with easy travelling to centre. Comfortable beds but decor could be improved upon.
Unable to comment on either restaurant or breakfast.Good bus service near by.Good parking at entrance set back off road.Sadly it was not the case that this proved to be value for money as many other hotels had wonderful offers on at a much lower price.I would not therefore consider Guildford premier Inn as the best to consider if on a budget.

Premier Inns are no longer budget hotels. By the time you have booked a room on the new 2 tier rate, bought dinner, then breakfast, you could have stayed in a real hotel with all the services and facilities for less money!

But at least you know what you're getting with a Premier Inn. The rooms are clean and well presented. This particular hotel is situated between 2 busy roads and therefore noisy. if you decide to shut the windows, the heat will get you. I've stayed here several times - always at the same time of year and it's very hot.

You notice it first in the corridor on the way to your room; also during the night, it builds up - even in this poor summer, it spoils your sleep. I've no idea why the room's temperature control cannot provide a cool setting in this day and age, but it doesn't. True, there's a fan in the room, but using this all night adds to cacophony of noise from the roads.

As an additional feature this year, the phone rang 3 times in the middle of the night. Bleary-eyed, I answered on the third occasion, only to be asked by reception if I had been trying to ring them!!!

No I bleedin' well hadn't - I'd been sound asleep but now, of course, I was wide awake. I hope I will get that refund so widely advertised for my disturbed night's sleep.

Parking is always a problem here and you need to get in fairly early to obtain a space anywhere near the entrance.

We shall probably return to Guildford again next year, but will hopefully get better accommodation.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear of the building are slighty quieter.

We often stay in Premier Inns and usually find them comfortable and value for money. Sadly, this was not the case in Guildford. In the area for 2/3 days, we had attempted to book into the nearby, and much quieter, Premier Inn at Perry Hill near Woking. This being fully booked, we were obliged to chose Guildford. First unpleasant surprise: as late bookers, we got stung for £277 for three nights excluding meals. Not quite the budget category reputedly offered by Premier.

The location may well be handy for the town but, located between the A25 and A3 roads, the traffic noise is constant and intrusive late into the evening. We must have been near every hospital, fire and police station in town to judge by the 24 hour serenade of sirens. We faced onto the front and the A25; it's possible that the A3, behind the hotel, is further away and not quite so noisy. On arrival, no mention was made of the lift. As pensioners, we are reasonably fit but trailing heavy luggage upstairs and through several fire doors would have been easier if this had been mentioned at the outset. Since the clientele seems to consist essentially of 'white van men' and sales people, perhaps staff are unfamiliar with older customers.

We used the in-house restaurant on our first day but found service very slow even in the early evening and with few customers. The next morning, with an early start to our activities, we thought it more prudent to have a continental breakfast. My wife passed on her favourite, porridge, and tried the fruit selection. Deep frozen strawberries anyone?

Returning late after a long, hot day, we eventually found one solitary parking space some 150 yards from the hotel entrance; handy for the annexe block. Curious how the disabled spaces were all full yet we saw no disabled people during our stay. Again the fleets of vans and trucks overflowed making a number of spaces unavailable. For,the rest of our stay, we preferred to eat in our room rather than risk the restaurant.

I must stress that this visit was very much at variance with our usual Premier Inns' experience. Try the new hotel in Paignton to see how it should be done.

Room Tip: Any that don't face onto a main road.

We stayed for one night to attend a wedding. Some budget hotels can disappoint, leaving you feeling that 'you get what you pay for', but we felt that this hotel (our first experience of Premier Inn) proved very comfortable for the price and offered a good value buffet breakfast. We'll definitely consider Premier Inn again.

I am very impressed that the Premier Inn, Guildford Central, is easy to find, has ample parking, everything is clean and well presented and the breakfast brilliant for SUCH AMAZING VALUE FOR MONEY!! I honestly think that my first experience of a Premier Inn beats the Travelodge hands down. Highly recommended.
