We stayed at Five Pines last Christmas and I could not recommend this place highly enough. The farm is run by some really nice people, they were really helpful when we needed them but left us in peace when we didn't. The cabin feels nice and secluded, its decorated nicely and feels both homely and new and clean. It’s also in a really nice area, there are lots of nice walks and its close to lots of lovely villages and pubs.

We stayed in the cabin in May and had a lovely weekend. Gill greeted us with her homemade cake and was incredibly hospitable throughout our stay. Her husband even picked us up from the local pub one night. The cabin was beautiful and homely and had an amazing kitchen with everything we needed so we stayed in and cooked a lot of our meals. Very highly recommend and the local hills made for some lovely walks.

Staying at Lockhurst Hatch Farm makes you feel happy and relaxed. We really enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave. The location is fantastic. Amazing countryside surroundings so fantastic for walking in all directions on various terrains. The farm is only 2 miles from Shere village which we love. Gill is the loveliest person and makes you feel so welcome. Very good energy to the house and I would love to visit again as soon as possible.

I stayed here recently and the whole of my stay was excellent. The room was comfortable with all amenities. The staff Gill was by far the best hostess i have ever met and was extremely welcoming, when i needed directions or any help Gill did everything she could to help, making the stay much more relaxed and enjoyable. Will definitely look forward to going back in future, highly recommended.

I recently went with my mum to Shere for a weekend away and we stayed at Lockhurst Hatch Farm B&B. Gill was a really accommodating hostess and we had a lovely spacious room with a view across the meadow - grazing deer weren't at all phased by us! The room was fabulous with comfortable beds. Flowers and bottled water in the room are a lovely touch. Real treat to have our own sitting room attached- quite frankly wouldn't hesitate to go back! Shere is a really pretty village - wondered around the village, sat and fed the ducks, then had a lovely tea at the Dabbling Duck!

Red sky at night... shepherd's delight, and a real delight it was.
Was fortunate enough to 'christen' the latest edition to Lockhurst Hatch Farm - an idllyic Shepherd's hut located at the top of a secluded field, with views of the farm, sheep and glorious Surrey hills.

We stayed for two nights in the hut which comes complete with solar-panelled light, a woodburning stove, double bed (with deep mattress), cosy duvet/pillows and a electrical 'mobile phone' style charger socket for those who need to maintain charge with the outside world. A scrumptious cold breakfast (cheese, meat, focaccia bread, yoghurt/granola/berries) was personally delivered in a picnic hamper to the steps of the hut each morning, so we could enjoy a truly rustic awakening. An old fashioned thermos was included with freshly boiled water for our daily caffeine fix.

The site for the shepherd's hut is really 'off the grid', with it's own purpose built compost toilet and shower facility outside. We didn't make use of the Kadai firebowl (with grill), which can be used as a fire/BBQ as we ate out on both nights, but imagine this would only add to the rustic charm of any stay. Access to the hut is via a walk up-hill through the surrounding field, and if returning after dark, will therefore be difficult without a torch to assist you (the sheep aren't very helpful!)

I would highly recommend this experience for those looking to embrace an alternative, back to basics break. If you want creature comforts and a pampered weekend away then the Shepherd's hut is not for you. We found the weekend to be extremely relaxing, charming and enjoyed revelling in nature's full majestic glory.
