If like me you love a traditional country pub then look no further, you will not be disappointed at the Wheatsheaf. The en suite rooms are clean and comfortable and excellent value for money but it is the pub which is the real star! The owner Ken and his team offer a genuinely warm welcome to this beautiful traditional country pub and the selection of real ales is a real treat to the thirsty traveller. The meals are not "pub grub", they are restaurant quality meals at pub prices with a terrific selection on the specials board to suit all tastes and you will have a hearty breakfast to send you on your way. I have been staying at the Wheatsheaf on business for a number of years and would never go back to boring old hotels. Give it a try - you will not be disappointed!

Really welcoming place - really friendly and helpful owners/staff. Room was fairly basic but clean and in good order. Really good value for the price and a fantastic location.

Stayed one night to attend the Haslemere Beer Festival. Room, although fairly dated was clean and the bed comfortable (bit a small TV in Room 3!) Shower excellent, great hang over cure! The staff at the hotel were very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was great. Shame I didn't have time to sample the restaraunt but friends who live in the area say it is definitly worth a visit.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2011

A good local independent pub with excellent staff. The bedroom was basic but perfectly adequate for a one night stay (attending a wedding nearby) and the bed comfortable (though no alternative to foam pillows!). Bathroom fixtures and fittings a bit tired but everything was clean and worked well. Very welcoming staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Landlord and his wife on site and very much involved, creating a good atmosphere. Breakfast was good and amazingly flexible as to options (decent coffee at breakfast is always a good test and The Wheatsheaf passed with flying colours). Though on a busy road, the rooms are to the side or back of the building and the traffic noise is minimal at night.
