These apartments are absolutely fantastic. I was really impressed with the decor and the apartmet was spotless. They were that nice and comfortable I didnt want to go out and was more than happy to get a takeaway and stay in. Would definately stay again.
Staff looked after our cases when we checked out to go to football match. Upon our return we were offered the use of their shower facilities to freshen up before our journey home. Also great location for the airport as got the metro to Jesmond which only cost about 2.60 ish

It's a bit hard to find really good accomodation in Newcastle that offers excellent service. It's the second stay we've had at the Kensington House. We ususally book their Cranley apartments (two bed/two bath setup). There's no lift so we requested a room on the first floor since the ground floor gets the traffic and potential of slamming of the main front door. You're issued keys to your apartment, but there is a coded keypad to open the main door. Our apartment had two nice sized bedrooms. I mean they are spacious for the UK, and since the building is original the ceilings are quite high and has lots of windows.

The living room and one of the bedrooms face the street, however, the windows are double glazed so there is no noise. The beds are very comfortable, and the en suite bedroom has a TV set mounted onto the wall. The TV in the living room is equipped with Sky. The kitchen is quite modern which is good and bad. If you want to wash dishes it's only the dishwasher that's available. Washing a little amount of dishes by hand there is no drying rack on which to place them. The bathrooms are all modern. However, the shower is the encapsulated type with sliding doors. That means there is hardly any space within the shower cavity, and it is quite challenging to pick up the soap should it fall. There is a nice rain shower however.

Pluses:
Helpful staff that are on duty 24/7 which is unlike other aparthotels that have limited hours
Really quiet location to ensure a pleasant night's rest
Housekeeping checks on the rooms daily

Minuses:
No lift
Very creaky wooden floors so you hear occupants above
Long walk to city center
Housekeeping doesn't replace towels with clean ones on their daily checks-only folds them
Limited variety of pots and pans
Some stains on the carpeting
No washer/dryer
No bathrobes and slippers were available as had been mentioned on their website

Stayed at the Kensington for one night Sunday 30 April with my daughter who is at Newcastle University. Its very stylish and the comfortable living areas are more than big enough for two people on a one night stay with the exception of the bathroom which was very pokey and a disappointment. As the shower screen didn't move had to climb into the bath to turn shower or bath taps on - bit strange! Not enough shelving for toiletries and there was something unmentionable stuck to the 'clean' towel - staff was very apologetic about this. The receptionist was extremely pleasant even though I had to ring her a couple of times to ask how to get things switched on, e.g. Sky TV and heating. The heating comes on at four preset times, not ideal if you happen to be in during one of the off periods with the current cool weather. It also came on at 4 am, bit too early! The apartment was clean but not spotless, e.g. kitchen bin was grubby and there were crumbs here and there. Thing I liked best, free parking, thing I liked least not having heating on when I want it.

We stayed here for one night in April, we wanted somewhere 'special and different' for one night as we were attending a birthday party in the city.
We have travelled across the world and stayed in a number of hotels etc, so our expectations are high, however, basic standards should always be met.......our carpets hadn't been hooverd for a number of days, large stains on the carpets and a big stain on the sofa, bathroom smelling very strongly of damp.......I could go on, however, all there is to say is........look else where, they don't deserve your had earned cash!!!!

Friendly, ideally situated for Uni, Metro station etc. Good rooms, great shower (impossible to get out conditioner from the little bottle, especially with wet hands!) Well equipped kitchen which we didn't use but we were only there one night. No gripes but directions from metro could be included as you can't see which road to come out on to!

Stayed one night at Kensington House for my daughter's graduation. The hotel was well located between the centre of Newcastle and Jesmond, the area where she lived.

Arrival was easy. They let us park the car early to go off to the graduation and return after lunch to check in. We were immediately struck by the very trendy decor of the hotel, both in reception areas and the apartments themselves. The rooms were of a very decent size except the bathroom which was just adequate. Furnishings were excellent and the kitchen was fitted to a standard you'd welcome at home. It was well equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, stylish sink/tap and smaller electrical appliances. This was just as well as there was nowhere obviuosly close to get breakfast - we'd brought our own! The lounge had a large TV with full Sky including sports/movies and a DVD player. The bedroom had adequate open wardrobes/shelves/drawers, a wall-mounted TV and a walk in cupboard with washing machine, iron and ironing board. There was a separate single bedroom which was locked as we'd only booked for two people. The bathroom was not large, but was well fitted with a great rainshower over the tub.

We were not disturbed at any time by noise, even from the main road outside the lounge. The apartment seemed to be cleaned to a high standard with none of the faults others have mentioned although we did find only one hand towel and one bath sheet (very fluffy) between us. Reception said this was a mistake, though a previous reviewer mentioned the same problem. There was a Metro stop just across the road which got us into town really quickly and at £1.90 for a return ticket allowing all day travel we used it a lot though walking into the shopping area would only have taken 10/15 minutes.

We felt this was a great place to stay and only wish it had been around for most of the previous five years when we'd visited our daughters at Newcastle during their studies. The apartment would certainly lend itself to a longer stay with the cooking/laundry facilities I mentioned. We got a late price of £95 for two, though we could have got the Hilton for ten pounds more including breakfast. But the easy parking facility, convenient location for our needs and the space we had made us think we'd made the right choice.
